To make a short story long:
A few months ago I decided to check and see if my company name (presmar) was availible. So I went over to dnbuy.com and looked it up and found that my name was avalible in .com, .net and all the other dots that there are.
So I said what the hell, I'll just buy it, the dot com version. Had no intention of using it at all.
Well about a month ago I get an email asking if I would be willing to sell presmar.com. I figured it to be someone trying to sell me something, so I just deleted it and continued doing what I had been doing on my computer. About a week later I get another email asking if I was interested and if so what is my price. I only paid $8.97 it for so I thought to myself maybe I can make a few extra dollars buy selling it 50 bucks. Then again, I thought to myself I don't really want to sell it, so I'll fuck with them. "My price is $800" I replied.
A few days later I get a response that the buyer is willing to pay $1,000 for it and to login to the site and complete the transaction, which I promptly complied with. Minus bank wire fee and escrow fee I received $885 into my bank account for a name that I forgot I even owned!
Oh...I almost forgot...the next day I sold takeyourvitamin.info for $150
The morrow of the this story is: Don't sit on your domain names. You can make money with them even if they are not for sale.
