selling site *worth*
lets say you had a site that made $1000 a week
and has been for 4-5 months and is still growing how much would you sell it for?? what if it ment you had to get a real job |

I was thinking about selling my dating network and thought about this topic a lot. Some of the things that buyer usually considers are:
- How long you were in business and what is your average growth ( it better be positive :-) ) - How much money do you spend to make the profit that you make? - What liabilities you business has ( if you sell a lot of annual and lifetime memberships - that's a liability and is looked upon as "owning money" ) I can tell you more if you ICQ me... |

For adult sites I've always gone with 3-6 months of profit = sites worth. If after expenses a site clears $4000/month, I'd expect to sell or buy it for $12-20,000 depending on the site and other variables.

I'd try to sell it for about 50k.. I'd settle for about half that.
Any less and I would keep it.. unless I really needed the money. |

To add to what's been said, most serious businesses sell for x20 to x40 of annual profits. I don't know anybody in their right state of mind who would sell profitable business for only 6 months worth of profits.
When businesses are bought - it's usually becuase the aquiring company knows they can expand the buyee's business. |
