Questions for VooDoo?!?!

With design do you prefer to use a more 3d approach, or keep it simple, and also...

SIG TEST!

I prefer a simple look/feel for a site design as opposed to a more complex and/or 3D style look. Both have their place, and do well under different circumstances, such as type of traffic, and target audience. But, I feel that the simple look has more of a universal appeal than the more complex designs.

Does my sig look good? LOL

That makes sense, but sometimes you need to make up for lack of content with design don't ya think.

Like when I go to a site and it has a huge all crazy flash tour, I figure they don't have a lot or good content. Why spend that time to do that when you could be shooting content.

Sig is ok, mine is better!

Online... Content is "King". So, a design should "showcase" your content, rather than cover it up. If you find a site that has a tour, and your focus is on the design of the tour, some red flags should start flying. It would typically indicate that:

1. The site owner/designer has no idea what they are doing. OR
2. The site owner is attempting to cover up their lack of content.

Yeah, your sig is better. I need to redo mine.

that's what I just said...

Really good designs rock, but also scare me off as well

Kind of a double standard
