How to make my website a "membership site" with WP?
Hello all,
I am interested in make my website a membership site. What is the best way to do this with wordpress? I am currently using a payment gateway who offers recurring billing, so the billing aspect is not a problem. I need to know how to setup the site: how to send customer their passwords after payments, password access panel etc... Thanks. |

There are a few membership plugins available for WordPress. If I remember right, amembers is pretty nice.

I run a two paysites on wp. two installs, one for the tour and one for the membersarea. You can use any theme you like and NO plugin needed. Ccbill handles the rest. You will be happy and never lookback.

This seems like a great product. I tried their demo and it is impressive. Do you know any sites that use them so I can have a look? JERKULES, Thanks for the info. I don't want to switch to ccbill because I just spent a fair amount of money going with USAepay. Can I take a look at your paid sites? urls? |

After a couple days of intense research on the subject, I can confidently say that the best way to make a wordpress site into a paid membership site is with AMEMBER PRO.
Amember is not a plugin that you bring into your wordpress, but rather it's a script that you install on your server whereby you bring your WP site "inside it". It's a full one-stop solution with no additional plugins or configurations. You can even create your own affiliate program with it. The best thing is they support almost 100 payment gateway with no extra charge. Luckily mine was on the list. It's also very inexpensive. |

I haven't heard of Amember pro, I'm going to check into that later.. Also never would have thought the ccbill option! Also very cool..
I wanted to add though, I have used buddypress plugin, stripped out most it's features and reworked just the registration and lost password features. |
