Best way to monotize a tumblr with 30k followers?

So here's what I have regarding my Tumblr followers:

girlfriends - 32k
mature - 30k
hardcore - 5k
fetish - 2,500
shemale - 7,600

Last night (Monday night around 2am) I put analytics in it and checked the top two. In around 20-21 hours on the mature blog I got:
Visits 2,007
Unique Visitors 1,869
Pageviews 9,181
Avg. Visit Duration 00:03:18

The girlfriends blog was almost identical as well.


I currently have niche specific banner ads on them at the top and bottom and average about 150-200 uniques a day. My wife and I lost our jobs and we'd like to know if there's a way to make this actually payoff a little. What are my best options here? Thanks in advance.

Why not create a bunch of actual niche specific sites, and forward the traffic? 30k hits on a site with a popunder would bring in a little cash.

Ya, I have a domain but I can't afford hosting right now. I made a hostedtube and I'm forwarding there. I'm expanding my tumblrs also. Pretty easy to get followers on new ones if I tell my 60k+ about it. I got over 300 followers in less then a day. I got around 300 uniques to the tube over night so this is looking like the best bet. I think you can use those promo videos/content anywhere. I use embeded videos from pimprolls promo center in one of my blogs. I don't think you can embed the content from your hosted tube site though. Best to ask them, their support is great and they might be able to give you some advice. They went over my tubes for me and gave me some nice advice....for example; get rid of the useless sidebar altogether if you already havent, and move your ad revenue slider to 100% TF.

I would link to your pimproll hosted tube site from all your blogs, with that kind of traffic, it should make you some quick money. They payout every 2 weeks.

BTW, I just started with 6 tumblr blogs, trying to drive traffic to my hosted tubes....how in the hell did you get that many followers? Mind telling me what you did?

in 99 and the early 2000's I used to run a marijuana niche site with 60K uniq a day (almost 100% organic too)....I never appreciated those hits until now...LOL But back then didn't have PR and backlink BS and need fucking blogs to drive traffic, so I'm kinda noob at the blogs and the new harder way of doing shit via Google - you seem to be a damned blog expert.

That has actually crossed my mind, but seems too labor intensive. What proggy U using to make the gifs? Maybe I'll give it a shot, thanks for the tip.

I've been taking a screen grab of my HT sites, writing a description and posting...trying to give them at least something visual to click on and add to the legitimacy of my links.

It posts the link to the vid and pre-populates with the video description, but it's still just a link with no pic or gif. And I've since learned that tumblr is image driven.....

Update: I found this gif maker toolbar extension for chrome:

It will record a portion of the actual video on my HT in full size. It makes a new tab to save the gif to HDD. Then I upload it to tumblr as a pic post. Link the HT video url to the pic and put a caption with URL. Frames, quality and duration are customizable.

if you wanna make good gifs, eyecatching gifs, you'll need to work at it
if you wanna make quick easy gifs, just keep them under 400x400. at those dimensions the size limit is 2mb, so you wont feel as limited or have to put much effort into making them.

from there its your choice what method you want to use, but there isnt any one method of making gifs, and depending on what program/method you're using, the gifs will either be awesome or craptastic.

Isn't this against Tumblr TOS? I'm pretty sure they don't like affiliate links.

Actually, I could use some advice in this area myself. I am going to be doing a new blog that does have affiliate links, but I am wondering if I could also share some of the affiliate photos on Tumblr if I am trying to push towards my blog that has the links. I'd just link to them on Tumblr but I don't think I can, but of course to share photos owned by others could be considered copyright infringement. So, is there a good way to do this if I say all photos are courtesy of my partners and you can find more on my blog/site?

I actually will be doing this as an aside to some erotic hypnosis and such, so the main thing I want to do is get people to my site to explore what I'm directly offering. I feel Tumblr is a good way to get some people interested, and that uploading your own rather than just sharing is the best way to get subscribers, but I've seen cases of people being sued for illegal use of copyright. My plan is to do captions and such, and say the full story is on my site (also with disclaimers that the captions aren't endorsed by any of the affiliates linked to).

Perhaps I'm going about this all wrong, but this thread seems to be already trying to brainstorm some Tumblr ideas and thought I'd ask. Thanks everyone.

Steer clear of posting direct affiliate links, surefire way of getting shutdown. I'd say you can use affiliate photos I would think though. The point of those photos is for you to use them and drive traffic isn't it? Best bet would be to contact your affiliate manager and ask.

Thanks! That is along the lines of what I thought, and you're right that it could come down to the specific program as some might be okay with it and others not, so better to check.
