				 | ID and Docs are more for legal purposes and model releases. As far as ownership of content is concerned, it could be sold to 3 (or way more) different owners and eventually make itself to you. Can someone else help out here?

				 | Scares me to think noone has answered this question. Curious about the percentage of webmasters out there that are doing things by the book, as opposed to those who are just doing what everyone else does - 'borrows' the content and if they get caught, pony up the fine (or take it down). Until then, I guess it's all in a day's work, huh? It's disgusting to see how many girls are being ripped off (myself included). Is anyone going to answer this question .. or does the answer simply not exist because noone goes through the legitimate channels to obtain this content and pay the girl what she's owed, (in royalties or as per agreement/contract)? |

				 | There are many big name companies that legally offer stock pics and vids for a fee that you can use for creating your own advertisements, or promotional content. But if you can buy directly from the source without fearing any repercussions, like amanda36c said, she got ripped off to. You should create a legally binding contract that both you and the participant/model must sign before and preferably in the presence of a lawyer or witness (witness must sign contract to). It would also be in best interest if you can ask a company selling stock images or vids to give you a way of contacting the model you wish to use, so you know you are not using that models image(s) without consent. Tedious and annoying... yes. Most people don't go this route and i could see why lol, But it does save a lot of headaches if something happens in the future. But like you said COUNTRY DEPENDENT

				 | Wait, I thought the Model Release took care of this. Meaning that as long as a company supplied you with a model release, you don't have to contact the model or anyone to let them know you are using their images. Does the model release not give the producer/company/photographer, permission to use the photos/video in ANY way they want, including distributing it themselves, or re-selling? Does the model not know her content can end up just about ANYWHERE! |

That's accurate, and if they have the forms and the proof, that's usually all you need. Which is probably the best way to go, so you don't take any blame if anything goes wrong. It would be pretty inconvenient to contact a model every time you wish to use their image lol.

				 | As was previously mentioned, you need to request the model releases for any models that appear in the images you plan on using that you are not getting from the person or people actually in the images. When a model sells or gives away his/her content, he/she "releases" it to the party with whom she has the agreement. This release should contain any specific terms of the agreement in addition to contact information for all parties involved. Releases are generally passed along with content when it is legitimately obtained, so anyone offering content without releases should probably be avoided.
