Medley W-8BEN Form account suspended
Last week we received an email from Medley, aka cams.com and AFF that our account has been suspended because we did not send a W-8BEN form, also they mention :
Which means that we would loose over 3k in revenue. They state that they have been sending us emails since a year, I never saw 1 email, requesting to send this form. Neither did we see it in our account because we use NiftyStats to check stats.
Unfortunately we failed to see that no money was coming in from Medley for a while. In the old days they paid like clockwork, so it became a habit not to check. Another lesson learned, trust noone.
Yesterday we send in the required form and we are now subject to their mercy if we can keep our account or not, if not, we can say goodbye to our money as well. I called them and they told me I could always open a new account and start over, losing all the rev share customers as well. We have been an affiliate since 2004, even that does not seem to matter.
Ofcourse we have been stupid not to claim the money what was owed, but to terminate our account and take our money is a bit over the top in my opinion. Oh well, we send the form and its up to their "management" to decide.
Any ideas ?
As provided in Section 9, you have forfeited any and all Commissions owed, and per Section 19 of the Agreement, a termination fee will be assessed to cover our costs associated with closing of this account.
