Do people still submit galleries to TGP/MGPs?

TGPs and MGPs are more or less dead these days, there a few big ones around but most are turned into tubes these days.

If you don't want to have the costs of a tubescript or hosting, you can use www.easyxsites.com to turn your TGP into a tubesite.

I still submit galleries to the Hun. They don't convert like they use too but I'll get 30,000 hits if get one on the main page that day. Some of my galleries have a backlink to my main site. So I look at as free traffic. What does it cost these days for 10,000 hits ?

I do but the return for the effort is becoming less and less. Most of the sites that could send decent traffic to your galleries have either been bought or the original owner is turning them into tube sites.

The thing to do now is SEO your sites and build as many quality links as you can so you can begin to generate your own traffic and sales.

Stick With TGPS with self hosted, tons of traffic that way, tubes make lil to nothing too
