Yes, I run it on WP and use Hyper-cache.

There are a few things it could be. Maybe apache isn't optimized. It could be mysql. Your caching script might be causing trouble. I use w3 super cache and have never had any trouble.

php / mysql caching needs tuned, apache could probably need tuned as well. Just a couple things to look at. Is your host helping you figure this out and get things running smooth?

It's hard to say without specifics but one thing you could do in the meantime is block all traffic from bad countries. You're not making any sales or ad revenue from them and they're just eating up your resources.

Using a friends server is nice but you slow their sites down and I would hate to see a friend get upset with you :-) We do not charge anything "extra" for support help and optimizing with our services. Thanks Gonzodave :-) It has been a fun 15 years. We have came along way from running a single T1 out of a little office in Tuscaloosa, AL. The next 15 will be even better and we enjoy working with every customer that joins our family, small or large.
