To answer your question in as simple way as possible... There is money in porn, there is money in mainstream as well.
Why ppl are saying that there is no money in porn or mainstream? The reasons vary and it depends on a person who is telling you this.

Some people say there is no money in (porn/mainstream) because:
-they can't to any money in it so they say there is no money
-they do very little money in it so they say there is no money
-they are psychos and they afraid of more competition so they say there is no money in it to discourage you just in case
-they do a lot of money in it but they are greedy mofos so they tell you bullshit that there is no money in it
-they are stupid jokers so they repeat the phrase "there is no money in ... " because it sounds cool to them

The truth is that there is money in everything. If other people do it then it means they do it because of some logical reason, unless they are crazy maniacs that could do it for free the main reason they do it is always money.

There's plenty of money in porn, it's just spread out more than it was. The people who say there is none are either joking or they're basing it on their slumping income due to failure to capture market share. Just my 2 cents.
