It shows they are getting something off their chests and are also adult enough to realize they screwed up when they edit the bad things out. Don't we all have that get mad thing in us?! I use it to correct typo's too. lol Or make things clearer when it hits me that something I thought sounded so clear looks muddled up after I reread the post.
Vote- it stays on.
Second Vote- make a clear rules page for posting and insert it in between the register button and register page so we have to read it.
Third vote- Turn that darn cookie checker and reinstaller on! Lost the cookie on thi system somehow!

It would be cool if there was a time limit on editing posts... like maybe lock the post in after someone else replies to the topic after you...
I've made a few errors myself -- even once I realized that my insults weren't nasty enough so I had to go back and make them even more nasty hehe... But I think it's lame to change posts hours or days later...Comment

My vote is for getting rid of it. If people can't read over their posts to make sure they didn't spell anything wrong, then its their fault. And really, are we here to comment on each others spelling? I didnt realize that we made more money or got more traffic because we won the national spelling championship.Comment

Rivux , some of us are moving pert quick when we do the original post and alot of us have a little pride about our spelling or wanting to make our meaning clear. It would be nice to have nothing more to do than to post on boards but we are working...and if someone from another country/language doesn't understand the post we should be able to straighten it up without making a whole new post that might get lost 12 messages later.

It would make people think a lot more before posting I believe. Allowing them to edit their messages means they can call someone an asshole, then edit it out and say "I didnt say anything". It will make everyone that more responsible for what they say/type.Comment

I agree with TheFly. It would be very cool with for example a 12 hour edit limit. That way people will have plenty of time to see if they made a typo, or want to rephrase something. But they can't come back a few days later and remove their bullshit/flames.Comment

I think that if your cought changing the meaning or taking out part of your statment and you lie about it to try to protect your name then that is all on you..
Your word is your bond and if you want to destroy your own name by lieing about little dumb shit things in the first place then what does that say about your name.
If you really need to retract somthing, instead of editing it out of an earlier post just post again and admit that you think that what you said was wrong or that you were just mad or somthing like that..

i deleted my comments about him being an asshole (and deleted his email address) afterwards.
i made sure to add in that i had edited out what i originally thought, so it makes sense to everyone.

If you are afraid of spelling mistakes, then read the post over and do your best. No one expects the messages on this board to be perfect.
