Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

    My site: http://www.adultcore.com

2 sites belonging to a guy named Thomas Hanson: http://www.hotpicstgp.com/ http://www.infinityporn.com/

The scary part is there are things on his sites that I did monthes ago but stopped - he's a longtime fan of me apparently. Notice there's no "submit" link - the galleries are copied from my site.

I don't even know how to feel about this. Creepy.

And what does Mr Hanson have to say about it all. Looks to me like submitting to adultcore has a bonus attached to it LOL

Its a set of tables with the headings changed at the end of the day. Spooky but depends how much you are hurt by it. Now if your site was built on a sliced graphic layout and someone came along and copied it then yes - big trouble.

As for copying the links, well thats common practice from all good TGP's

That's basically how I'm looking at it Susan. I mean sure it's annoying, but its not really hurting me or my site.

I thought about bitching to his sponsers (some of which are also my sponsers) but I'm not that interested. It is kind of flattering - I mean there are so many TGP's out there with great layouts, and he copied mine. Twice. It is flattering.

Also 90% of my listings have recips to me on them - so in a small way he's sending me some traffic.

I sent him an email saying "nice sites" just to see if he'd reply.

I hate these fuckers who do this. You've got a great site. It's ashame that sombody cant come up with their own design.

They have no creativity of their own, so they steal the design of sombody else. Cocksuckers!

I had a guy (http://www.allfreepornno.com/index.html) do this shit to me last week with 2 of his sites.

        Fucking sucks.

You shouldnt worry though...if sombody has to pull that sort of shit to "try" and make it in this business, they wont last.

So fuck Thomas Hanson, and fuck Eric Russell. You guys suck!

I remember Exxxotica was pretty pissed. I guess I would to. I've put in a lot of time designing it the way I think is most profitable. Testing redesigning, and some asshole just takes all that you've worked hard for.

I'm almost tempted to do that frames thing to try and hide the code. Although someone determined enough to steal the code, could get around it.

maybe you (your lawyer) should send him a bill for use of artistic design and review time.

I think plagiarizing original artwork is contemptible, but borrowing some html or layout ideas is not worth losing sleep over. I've done it, you've done, almost all of us have done it, especially when we were learning. It may not be the best manners, but I doubt if you'd get anywhere with a lawsuit.

Exxxotica, thanks man. That compliment didn't go unnoticed. I know, I was reading your post about it wondering how I'd feel - and damned if it didn't happen.

Unseenworld, I know what you mean - but if you'd look real close it wasn't just the layout that was copied. If I were to claim "intellectual property" I could prove it. There are too many points of comparison they didn't bother to change, I mean except the logo and the word "warphead's" they didn't put a lot of time into covering it up.

However - the guy replied, claimed he got the template from someone else and said he'd start working on new layouts. Sounds pretty sincere, even offered to put my sponser codes on it in the meantime. See guys and gals, being a nice-guy pays off.
