When I wrote my rate the girls and dirty message scripts I used cookies and IP to maintain state and prevent double voting. The ip log is a stack of 40 and the cookie 1 day. There's not much else readily available from the visitor that I know to. If you are tracking ip's on a busy site, using a flat file to store is not a good idea unless you are using a rolling stack. DBM is better but sql is the best choice.Stupid SpiceComment

Jer, the ip/cookie thing is good, better with a human, but even that isn't enough. You need to understand caca inside and out, you need proxie lists, you need a network of othe affiliate operators and then, some guys still get through.
catching cheaters is a full time job, that's why I hate them.

Yep, Susan, I'll use SQL with cookies and IP. It's for a very high traffic site.
12clicks, proxies list I'm compiling, caught 2 guys using proxy last months at my toplist.
I hate the cheaters, arght. So I'll have the script thing and myself to caught them.
