How did he do this?

Although I don't recall visiting any of the sites below, and did not book mark them, they keep showing up in my IE Explorer Favorites. I delete them, and then in a few days they're back. I don't have to re-boot for them to come back. They can show up in between shut downs. Is this a virus? That would give a whole new meaning to "viral marketing".

Check for and delete any cookies those sites put on you.

I've never seen that before. The only bookmark I can't get rid of is "From ICQ". And that's a program, not a website.

BTW: Anyone know how to get rid of that?

but if anyone gets ahold of that fav bookmarks from websites script or something.. pls email it to [email protected] (and is this legal? (i dont see why it could be illegal)

Might just PO surfers just like it is doing to you. Think about it.

You should be able to delete things from your favs like the ICQ stuff by doing the edit bookmarks. Might have to delete each bookmark by itself to get rid of the directory tho. Never had a prob with them since we deny all that stuff when it shows up from people.

i find those damn things in my bookmarks constantly, i am picking them up from certain galleries people submit to my tgp. pisses me off greatly and i wouldnt suggest using them. people doing this are going to ruin the bookmark thing too. grrrrr.

make 70% sending your traffic to a real amateur babe-a-roni

you can get rid of "From ICQ" and any other annoying automated bookmarks by deleting them and then creating a file of the same name. so in "C:\WINDOWS\Favorites" create a file called "from icq" if that's the exact name of the bookmark. proper case is unneccesary. the reason this works is because the windows file system is unable to store a file and a directory of the same name in the same directory. icq goes to write out its bookmark file and is unable to... problem solved.

i got 3 added without my knowledge, i do a right click and had to untick the 'archive' box, then delete.
Damn, i forgot where they were for now. I'm gonna start spamming these fuckers in future - i can screw-up my pc all by myself thankyouverymuch

the trick i said above works for all unwanted automated bookmarks. use it if you see the same bookmark coming up time and time again.

Amber.. if you figure out who is causing these auto bookmarks please let me know.

I have all the adult stuff in the house on MY pc and I sometimes get my hubby to help me review and these same bookmarks are landing on his pc..... My kids also use his pc so I am not real damn happy with this shit landing on his bookmarks folder. If it put it in a folder for you too it would be different, but I do my best to keep anything I don't want them to see on MY pc and off of his.

We have been trying to figure out for 2 weeks how these damn things are getting in my bookmarks......... if we are supposed to be keeping kids off of porn then why throw the shit right there in their damn faces? It IS possible to hide bookmarks from the kids but it's really pissing me off when I have to go and edit his bookmarks before I can let my kids on his pc so they can surf the damn net.

im not sure how to solve it.. format is one option..

i know its fuckin hassle to do..

other = buy other pc for your kids and use the one u are using for adult stuff

other = dont let your kids use ie and make them use netscape.. (delete all ie shortcuts)
