jamoncam review?

Any of you has worked with Jamoncam previously?

We're currently using Modena and we're looking for a serious facelift on our site, Jamoncam seems steep but very complete.


What are your thoughts about it?


If you know about other cam scripts that you consider better please let me know, thanks in advance!

Tim stole 7500.00 (1/2 of a $15,000 project) from me in about 2003 or so. Flat out ripped me off. I wanted a customized version of muscle magazine.com vbulletin that he was using with a customized ad server and he installed a unmodified version of vbulletin and an unmodified version of openx which was phpadsnew at the time. He tried to charge me 2800.00 for a 100% free piece of software (the ad software) which wasn't even anything like what I had described in specs - then tried telling me it was created for me, in spite of the fact that even the software license was on the server. He was giving me updates along the way and everything. It was insane behavior. There was no possible way he could have got away with it but he did it anyway.

It was one of the craziest things ever. This all came after me flying 1/2 way around the world to meet him and after spending most of a day with him and his wife. It's incredible that I did not pick up on anything while meeting with him or in all the conversation before that.

He is a high functioning sociopath and pathological liar.

I don't have a "plain" jamoncam site, but use them since 9 years for customisation stuff of a site once based on jamoncam, also note most our site(s) are in house developed by other people so don't look at tubecamgirl this is NOT theirs.

Others got shocked by them too, but mostly as they got a mainstream way of operate (and prices) which may not fit the practical, quick and cheap (I mean, effective) adult site way of ICQ a bro to solve stuff for a beer.

It is true in 2003 it was Tim reselling a few romanians, but should be added than in last few years they hired people in 2 offices, use ticket based web projects, have different team for develop and do testing, so you no more simply talk with Tim (who is not a developer and may promise stuff his developers disagree with later). In most cases you not even talk with him ever (if this is the issue). But instead with a number of other sales people , project managers and so on.
In fact most their business it is mainstream and you can tell by their prices which is no joke:

So an unlimited jamoncan site cost startup $7k then other $7k later = $14k. The other licenses are limited so you would upgrade anyway, make no sense.
Then most changes they not allow you to edit yourself (code is "proprietary") and add hours which as you see are sold at $150 each unless you buy hundreds, so "cheapest" deal is 401+ hours at $99/hour = $39k minimum.

So if you have the budget, that can work ok. If you want launch with $5k you will end very bad, as get cheaper license then learn you need upgrade and custom hours and really it was 15k - 20k.

For completeness: it was agreed in previous threads that to launch a real cam site it is required few $100k's investment, most going in advertising and bonuses for models and affiliates to care to such new cam site. So relatively the above price is not high, also consider doing in house code means hire basically full time one or two developers, plus your own bugs, which is also not so cheap.

I suggest then: who who wants to simply experiment a cam site or do it for an own small project etc., where really budget is $1k to $5k total including marketing, go for some opensource script + bro developer kid. You experiment for cheap and can do different later. If budget is $50k+ (but better $100k+), then jamoncam is one of the options for sure, just be prepared for custom work at $150 per hour for each change you ask who is not included.

I wanted a customized version of his site at musclemagazigine.com. It was a heavily modified version of vbulletin.

I also wanted a custom ad server built for the project.

We went over all the specs and details.

We agreed to $15,000.00

I paid 1/2 up front.

He had his guys install a simple vbulletin install
He had his guys install a free ad server software (openx)

He announced everything was done - which was insane considering the amount of coding that was expecting to be done. No work done in stages as planned, no previews etc. just "hey, we're all done" which is not how development works anywhere

I look at the ad server software an recognize it immediately because I was already using openx. I ask him what the hell is going on and he claims it was coded from scratch. I show him the filing text file license is still in the directory on the server and he tells me it was just an accident that file found its way into that directory

The customized version of the already heavily modified version of vbulletin he was using on musclemagazine.com was was just a 60.00 vbulletin license installed on my domain which he was insisting was what I wanted.

My point is that it's not about "bro" or "adult" vs "non adult".

My point is that he flat out stole money from me and scammed me and that is where he head is at an how he operates.

He owned the domain musclemagazine.com, put forums on it and then spent substantial time traveling for free to bodybuilding competitions and events and being interviewed BECAUSE people in the fitness industry thought he represented the Canadian magazine Muscle Magazine. He doesn't work out. He knows nothing about fitness or bodybuilding. This is how full of shit he is. A pathological liar and con artist.

He took my one of my friend clients for a good chuck of money, and never delivered. All Tim did was telling us he was working on it, doing all he could, etc etc... I spent time with him and his wife. His wife seemed really nice. I could never understand if they were both psychos or if he kept her on the dark because she is equally involved in their business. That AI software based on Alicebot.org that he used to show off was named after his wife.

What I kinda believed was that he basically just conned people when he needed the money and she wasn't really involved. But people should understand that just because he has a site and real products, it doesn't mean he is a legit business person. He is a com artist.

I was completely stunned that I didn't see it coming when he went from 100% professional and saying all the right things to flat out stealing from me and pretending to be confused. As to why there was a problem.

thanks for your posts, still very confused cause i get mixed reviews, not that we're rich but the price on script is not THAT bad, if it complies with what we're looking for.

thank you squealer for your feedback, in my humble opinion people can change for better, and 2003-2013 is a huge timeframe. so i cant rely on your opinion about the script as this was a situation with the company owner

I think jamoncam and softservice does not work on iphone/ipad yet, but could be they've recently updated; the issue with mobile is if the chat needs flash and iphone misses flash, can use is html5 only for all.
