Thank you to Kink (Peter Acworth), X-Biz (Alec Helmy), GameLink (Jeff "Dillonaire" Dillon), and Synova Interactive Group, for hosting an Adult Industry gathering last night in San Francisco.

The evening began at the new Armory Club, which is located kitty-corner to the Castle (the humongous main Armory building). The place was packed with industry pros from all areas of the industry, all busy networking and socializing, boozing and schmoozing...

I personally made several good contacts with people whom I had only known online, and even learned about some new companies (Synova Interactive Group for Mobile apps, etc).

After the happy hour or two, the party moved across the street for free drinks and food at the Kink castle, and excellent Tours were provided of the Armory facility. (Anyone interested in organizing or taking a tour of Kink, may now do so HERE:

Anyway, thanks again to the aforementioned fine people and organizations that sponsored the event, and thank you to all whom attended...

I wasn't at the FSC Summit, so I dunno...although not ostensibly a business event (more of a social mixer), I can personally attest to the fact that old business relationships were solidified, and new ones developed.

Personally, I probably would have attended the FSC meeting if I was in LA - I try to not view everything in only black and white...

The pix in this thread were shot by a photographer friend that shoots occasionally for me. I had to use flash to shoot with my camera, so I didn't want to use it much and bother people (my buddy Dave was shooting without flash at 2500 ASA).

It was the biggest gathering yet, but it is about quality not quantity. I would say close to 150 people came to the event. Amazing turn out.

Great turnout considering all of the entertainment options in San Francisco on Friday night, and more importantly, it was definitely a good quality gathering.

We need to do more such gatherings in the Bay Area.

Actually, the pix from the Kink event in this thread were shot by one of the photographers that shoots occasionally for me. I primarily focus on video shooting these days, and work with about a dozen freelance still photographers for most of the new photography. I found after doing practically everything myself for over 12 years (I'm a one-person company), that it is more efficient to have others help, and there is an added bonus that they are quite good at what they do.

Over 90% of the photos currently on Asian Diva Girls were shot by me. Most of the newer content was not (although I still do stills as well a few times a month). Nonetheless, I am involved in every single project as a Producer/Director as well - most of my photographers are mainstream photographers, and I am their only adult client, so I end up teaching them lots of tricks to shooting porn, plus I like to leave my imprint on every project anyway.

I'm one of those people whose work is integrated into their lifestyle, so that I essentially am almost always working (or in my case, living my life). I may not be the best at what I do, but I have a passion for what I do, that I hope is at least a part of the reason that people enjoy some of the work which I produce.

Yes, Kink built the Armory Club as an adjunct to the Main building. It's a great place to meet and socialize.



The Armory Club just opened recently...Review:

The official opening date of Kink.com's across-the-street bar, The Armory Club (Mission and 14th), has been set for September 18, but you're likely to see a lot of activity at the swank new space this weekend since they've got several private parties going on. Grub Street got in last night just as they were having a shindig for Kink staff, and the place is really a beauty ? fetish porn still makes money, folks, and they spared no expense on the décor. There are framed plasma screens intermixed with semi-tasteful erotic art on the walls. There's red, velvety wallpaper. And there's an under-lit amber onyx bar that is pretty goddamn gorgeous, and unlike anything you've seen outside of, like, Vegas and certain big-city hotels.

The overall vibe is a kind of modern take on Victorian, with a men's clubby feel, complete with leather furniture and two fireplaces. The fun, red back bar and lounge can be rented out for events, and has its own side entrance on 14th Street.

Peter Acworth is brilliant, and he has a lot of cash to help bring his visions to life. I watch in awe at what he and his huge team at Kink are doing (Kink has a huge in-castle staff). LA may be the center of US porn, however San Francisco has always had a vibrant and creative porn scene of it's own. A lot of early porn was actually filmed in San Francisco by the Mitchell Brothers and other porn pioneers, and to this day, there remain several large LGBT producers here.
