Growing old.

I remember my Dad telling me the Bands of his era, Glenn Miller type, were the greatest. The Beatles and Stones would never last. He never said his young days were the best, he was fighting a war and born in the Great Depression. Same for my Grand Parents.

I was among the first generation that was The Best Days. 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Were fantastic all on a wave of easy money and exports. 40 years of great living. OK we didn't have Youtube and iPads, somehow we struggled by.

Today my life is still great, enough money to last my days out, a great family and living in a country that beats the UK into a cocked hat.

OK my health is fucked, but I'm alive, so is Eva and that's two miracles to be happy about.

The one downside to my life is the slow death, or shrinkage to a shadow of it's former self, of the business I was in or around for most of the 50 years. Sorry if reminding you of the times when it was harder to get into and easier to make money once in, upsets some. Sorry if I don't think the relentless pursuit of traffic is the prime prime key to riches. I come from a time when selling to the most people possible was the prime key. Think about it.

If my comments and digs upset you, sorry. Some of you need to look at your replies and think to yourself. "If I think like this while I'm young, how will I be in 30 years time?" Especially if I'm not as successful as I thought.

Yes, with a bit of luck you'll all reach your 60s and have great memories of the days when people bought porn online. Think about it.

Off to walk the dog, jigsaws are put away until winter. Then off to the gardening centre for more plants.

Or maybe the industry just outgrew you.

It is impossible for you to comprehend the money being made today because you cannot figure out how. The money and power is just concentrating as it always does when an industry matures.

There used to be a thousand car companies but the half dozen big brands make way more than all of them combined even when adjusted for inflation.

Sure piracy is a problem but far too many use it as an excuse.

That is a fascinating story Paul, thanks for sharing.

It just goes to lay at rest the myth that you are broke living of immigrant hand outs, that you're broke so your wife has to go out to work as a secretary rather than anything interesting or rewarding, that you are lonely because despite having lived in another country for years you STILL can't speak or understand any of the language, because you post walls of text moaning here.

Thanks for taking the time to settle all that once and for all.

Let shoebox bump my threads. Kind of ironic all the idiots saying "fuck off", "stop posting", "shut up", etc. Posting and bumping my threads and comments. Or is it stupid?

Go figure.

Here's some advice to the young bucks working today.

What goes up must come down, what goes down doesn't always go back up. And nothing remains forever.

I learned this lesson the hard way in the late 70s. since then I invested in a pension plan and property. Never spent a lot, never owned a car to sit in the street all the time, rented, never lumbered myself with a big mortgage and no debts. Now I walk the dog, do some gardening and got a great tan.

Eva kicked me out of the kitchen and has now finished, I'm off to cook.

Just turned 48 this past Fri. - and my goal for when I turn 50 is not to use the phrase "You young bucks" when talking with the younger generation.

I still subscribe to Sidney Freeman's advice (from M*A*S*H) - "Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice."

I've always admired you paul. Granted you can be a troll at times but you do have some sense about you. From a business perspective, I never got how content producers had a sustainable business model. I saw it as a dying field in 04.

Content producers only able to sell to online companies it was a very hard model to sustain. Some did and good luck to them. Most were small operations. simply because of the prices paid by online porn. There were better paying models elsewhere.

This isn't excluded to content. There was a thread recently about programmers being poor in the porn field, reason given was the money paid, the best designers aren't in porn. Yes there are some good guys, I'm talking about the general trend.

Some content producers moved to stores, paysites or/and custom to sustain their business. We already had a very good place to sell our work. Sid Vicious and the guy working for Perfect Gonzo moved to DVD porn for the money.

Online porn threw money at traffic.

Mid 2000s were our best years. Some mags still there and buying, some of the old shooters had gone, stores were doing well and the paysites kicked in.

TheSquealer has told many when he visited us he saw the large studio and all the staff. He just complains it wasn't in a swish expensive building. Like I was going to pay out huge rents to show models we were raking it in.

Ok you old bastards...It is easy to feel young again. Just pack your bags, fly to the Philippines, and lots of hot 20 year old girls will think you look like Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, or some other demigod...at least until you run out of money.

No, I think he complained because you were a massive liar, he proved you lied, then you lied some more about the lies you had already told.

It all depends on your experiences. For me met the first girl I would marry, opened a successful business, had a baby girl, then went broke, really broke and it taught me a great lesson. Then started back in porn, found a great job outside porn and repaid the debts. Music in the early 70s was great, well what I was listening to. Later it got a bit poor.

If your references to 'attractive' celebrity males are Tom Cruise and Bruce Willis you are old. No self-disrespecting 20 year old airhead should even know who they are.

Seriously, who the fuck does this nobody think he is? Why would anyone take life advice from some know-nothing internet loser who's widely disrespected even among the losers on a loser internet forum?

I'm not naming names, but if I were some enterprising young entrepreneur looking for advice, I'd ask one of the guys who made it big and then retired wealthy.

I agree, most are college run aways here.

"Adult Industry Role Model"

Why would anyone take advice from you?

Serious question and we await your answer. Or are you one of the losers posting on a loser internet forum?

Obviously not bright enough to figure out that was the obvious reply.

Think on this.
