I can't believe this. I've known Simon for years and he has always been a stand up guy.
I talk to him on msn, so will ask him tomorrow whats going on. But his program is a good one, and his site is one of the greats, so I cant imagine for a second he has gone to be honest.Promote the webs Highest Rated Teen Paysite TeenDreams.com.

Please report back. I would love a logical explanation. His content would be perfect for a new site I am launching and I really want to include him. That is why I started this thread... hoping for a decent explanation so I can keep sending him joins and include him on my new project.Comment

As it stands today, many of you haven't been paid. Within a couple of weeks everyone will be brought up to date.
You are no doubt wondering why so late... Sadly, the real drama isn't any single massive piece of juicey gossip, it's just a lot of real life grindy shit, which I will now bore you with.
The short version is, in 1999 I had a heart attack, recovered, started Simonscans and generally tried not to moan. Everything went just fine until VAT came along in late 2006 and took all my savings, ho hum. VAT = 20% sales tax on about 50% of all surfers. Roll on 2008 when peak porn hit - and my health promptly took a nasty turn for the worse and ended up having a quadruple bypass, which not only burned all my savings, yet again, but I also have to admit, I took my eye off the ball just a little. Just keeping the site going and none of you noticing that I wasn't around was an achievement in itself.
Ever since then we have been playing catch up - it's taken a long time to get back on my feet, and the most annoying thing is we're almost there. An investment property I own will sell very shortly and everyone will get paid. Contracts should have exchanged last week, but lawyers had one more question. It has taken a lot longer than it should have done, but there you go. I was hoping it would be a pension, but never mind. The hope was it would sell, we'd catch up with the affs and no one would notice.
And the straw that broke the camels back and stopped me paying was, of course, the taxman, who this year would not give us any arrangement AT ALL - having been late 2009, 2010, this year we had to pay the lot all at once. Which stung a bit.
And before anyone gloats too much, think on this. I cannot borrow money for the business. My health issues make me about as unbankable as it's possible to be. For the entire life of Simonscans (One S in the middle, by the way) it has had to run on nothing but cash.
Pull your links, don't pull your links. Say nice things or bitch and moan - when this moment is passed I'll not bear any grudges. Everyone will get paid. Simonscans will continue.Last edited by SimonScans; 06-26-2011, 09:28 PM.Comment

Good luck mate, I have never dealt with your but I have often read people saying good things about you.
If I could give one small piece of advice (well two) that would be that communication is key in cases like this. When people know of your situation they should and probably will be more patient and understanding.
Ongoing you really need to look at your numbers and in particular whether you can afford to pay such a large percentage to affiliates....... few of whom have any idea (or care) as to how little is left for you after paying them and VAT etc. Sometimes it is better to keep a bigger proportion of a smaller amount especially if it loses you the stress of meeting affiliate payments on time and more especially when you already have health issues.

Thanks a lot for the explanation - I did indeed find it extremely difficult to believe that Simonscans would simply just stop paying without notice since you have always been a very honest and straight up guy for the years we have been in touch. As it stands today, many of you haven't been paid. Within a couple of weeks everyone will be brought up to date.

I'm going to personally sign up for a membership at Simonscans and get new reviews out as soon as possible. It may not make a huge difference, but I want to support the site and your program any way I can. Simonscans is a personal favorite of mine and popular with our readers, so I am sure a lot of people would be very sad to see it go.
Simon, best of luck with your health and financial issues.Comment

Sad to hear that, Simon. The VAT thing has broken a few necks already, we also once settled at 50%, just for a much much lower total amount probably.

I talk with Simon quite a bit and have been pushing his program for something like 10 years. Although I don't think it needs to be said, all of what he wrote is true and I am sure everyone will get paid as soon as he is able. He is one of the few honest people left in this industry and I trust him. I make a substantial amount with him every month and, while payments haven't always been timely, he has always paid.
I will say that I wish he and other people/programs that are having cash flow issues would be a little more forthright in explaining their situation to affiliates before it becomes an issue on the boards. I do understand that things happen in life that affect one's ability to pay the people they owe, but waiting until there is a thread about it on GFY to come forward is not the way to go.Comment

I agree. I wish more sponsors having financial difficulties would just be honest about it. If I've been promoting you for years and you've always paid me and treated me fairly then I'm very likely to keep my links up for a while if you are upfront and give an honest date when you should be able to pay. Plus if I know about it, it makes it easier to work around and with the notice it becomes less of a big deal.
You don't like my posts? Put me on ignore or fuck right off. I'll say what I want.

The support in this thread is genuinely stunning. I thought for quite a long time before posting and pretty much assumed I'd be torn to shreds, so I am very, very happy with how its panned out.
I won't ruin it by blathering on as there's not really anything to add until I make good on the promises.
