ok so i buy 300k US 404's from this guy... sposed to be 100% US, 404 traffic... after fucking around with my money for a week he finally sends it... it's 20% US, 30% chinese, and the rest is a bunch of other shit countries. not only that, it doesnt behave like 404 traffic, it behaves like 25th exit from a tgp traffic. out of that 300k we had 1 sale. yeah 1 fucking sale.

so i email him back and he says so what, i didnt ask for US. i reminded him of icq logs & emails that i kept. i keep pressure on and he finally agrees to give me 150k US 404 on my next deal with him. WTF. as if i wanna buy from him again. and he owes me 80% of that 300k, which is 240k, not 150k. not to mention i really dont think it was 404 to begin with. so i really believe he owes me 100%, or my cash.

so whats a dawgy to do. i guess i will keep the pressure on and if he doesnt refund the money or send me 300k REAL US 404s, ill post his name and company here. which would suck, cuz everyone knows his company. and its gonna make me look bad for taking on someone so big.

ive already lost the respect of some very big people because i didnt deliver the clicks & signups i thought i could. so this guy has really fucked me up.

In the last two weeks I have had at least 5 guys buy traffic from me that were just ripped off by one of these guys selling exit and 404 traffic. Only one that I know of had the balls to expose who it was. If you guys are getting ripped off you really need to post them. Even if they agreed to compensate you. Fact is they ripped you off, period. I for one WELCOME any comments from anyone that has ever bought from me, good or bad.

OK now Soul and CD Smith let me tell you about traffic, (just my opinion). Not all 404 and exit is bad, and they are not the same at all.

404 traffic is basically very close to text link traffic. Text traffic is a text saying something like "Hot babes here" and the surfer is takin to some site or gallery. Now 404 is the same thing if you think about it, a surfer clicks on some link saying "hot Babes Here" and goes to some site or gallery just like a text link, the only difference is that it may not be the original url that the link was supposed to go to, because that gallery or site is gone now etc..., but the surfer didn't know that, they just clicked the link and ended up at a gallery or site, which is exactly what they expected to do in the first place, this 404 traffic is basically the same as a blind text link, and is not bad traffic at all.

Now exit traffic is a bit different and lower in quality because in most cases the surfer was intending to Close out of a page or window, and then some new pages or window's popped up or redirected them. That surfer may have just had his kids or someone come into the room (or many other reasons) and was trying to get the porn off his screne when to his surprise he couldnt and more porn popped up, see now this is low quality and is much different then 404 or blind link text traffic.

OK this is just my 2 cents, but hey what do I know..LMAO..

It certainly can make a difference in productivity depending on how you handle the 404 traffic. But some 404 traffic purchases are absolute garbage, so one must be careful when throwing money in that direction.

Text links don't necessarily have to be blind. The advantage of a good descriptive text link is that the surfers who click on the link actually made the desision to click, and MOST of them actually want to see what's at your site. They will, believe it or not, actually click on some of your links, sponsors and trades etc. I've paid for quite a few varieties of traffic in the past, but I'll take text link or button link traffic any day over anything else.

And it's rare to find good text link traffic that is affordable.

I agree with CDsmith. Text links over 404 anytime. When you are dealing with 404 you are dealing with absolutely non-targeted traffic and you gotta be a reall smartass to sell to it. With text links you can make pages that actually match the text, so you have targeted traffic that's actually interested in what you have to offer.
