Was going to use them for a client, sent an email a week ago that is still unanswered. I like to have a contact. Trying Zombaio instead as the Olsen keeps contact.

Try [email protected] he is quick to get back to clients.

They have been solid for many years and never a late payment.

I made some phone calls to them and the support was telling me to sent a request by e-mail with my questions concerning support of Wordpress stuff.... The support told me they would respond in 24-48 hours - so I guess I should wait. I guess it won't harm anyone if I write Robert ?

Funny because when I started using them 5 years ago, it was only to avoid paying the $500 fee for visa. I had already been using CCbill since 2003 to process everything else. I kept both processors. Now I'm doing a few thousand each with both monthly and really hate to let either go because of the large number of rebills I have with both. I've got 8 year rebills with CCbill and 4 year rebills with Verotel. Hate to give that up so I'm staying. Besides I've gotten nothing but excellent customer service with Verotel.

Perhaps it only effects very low sale sites for now, but let's see how it all plays out over the next 6 months.

Incredibly misleading thread title!

We are cleaning up a whole bunch of very small accounts within
our system. These accounts do a few or a few tens of dollars
in volume / week.

We have terminated some of these accounts because of inactivity.

Since we have to pay VISA and MasterCard registration fees these
unused account are a simple cost and with terminating them we are
looking to reduce these costs.

Quick note on fees is that the entire industry will undergo some
dramatic changes in the next 6 months when MasterCard will make
it mandatory for all MasterCards acceptants, including all webmasters,
to register their identification and websites. This will effect all
IPSPs including our competitors, but also IPSPs like Paypal.
With such registration MasterCard will impose a fee.

We are trying to limit any costs as much as possible - and most
of the time we don't pass on the actual VISA/MC fees 1-to-1
but take this from our general gross margin. This may change
in the future since the fees that MasterCard intends to
charge might be a bit higher than normal.

We are currently in an healthy discussion with the credit card
schemes to make sure we can provide you excellent service,
with a decent rate, and 100% payment security.

Please note that Verotel is registered as a Payment Institute
with the Dutch Central Bank in the Netherlands and that the
Dutch Central Bank is overseeing Verotel's operations and
money held.

On another positive note is that we are close to open up our
new US office in California. This means that we can provide
even better support during business hours of all the people living
in the Americas.

Looking forward to continue to work with you all!
Warm regards,

We don't use Verotel anymore but when we did we had excellent customer service from them. Not sure if he's still there or not, but Daryll was our rep. Good people.

A more PROFESSIONAL way that Verotel might have handled this, could have been something along the lines of....

Due to changes with our VISA and MasterCard registration fees, we are giving our smaller clients a 30 day notice to increase their Verotel transactions. We will be reviewing your sales, and clients who do not achieve at least $xxx p/month in gross Verotel income, will unfortunately be terminated in 60 days.

or

Due to changes with our VISA and MasterCard registration fees, we must now charge $xxx annually, for use of our services, etc.

The idea that there was NO notice, NO warning, and NO alternative options, is solidly short-sighted, and totally unprofessional on Verotel's part.

They could have turned this negative into a positive by forcing web masters to route more sales through Verotel in order to maintain their accounts, but instead, they just decided to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

They've shown a lack of vision, a lack of business etiquette, and most importantly, a lack of loyalty. So I say again, bye bye Verotel.

In my experience, Verotel is unreliable for payment and gives affiliates the worst support of any of the third party billers with no close second place, but your results may vary.

The second part of your statement is very true. However none there is fast to respond to anything including Robbert. I got yelled at one time for calling their so called US support line. On the other hand, the conversions rock, surfers like their join page, and they always pay on time. Support stinks though.

I saw another post you made a while back and almost the same wording. When you say unreliable for payment, are you saying that *affiliates* that sign up under verotel affiliate program have a problem getting paid?

One thing that I have heard, over and over, is that they are superb at paying the program owner. And if program owner uses another method to pay affiliates then should be no issue.

Check Verotel's homepage under Products and Pricing.

Especially MasterCard is very strict and fast-moving about its new transparency rules - where merchants need to be registered under their Payment Facilitator framework. Lucky enough we were able to negotiate relative fair conditions - with as outcome the three account types as listed on our website: Basic, Premium and Pro.

We are currently making these changes into our back end infrastructure.

In the next couple of weeks/months we will be contacting all our merchants to make sure we have all the latest documents on file to register with the CC companies.

Shortly after summer (September 15th) the new registration requirements will go into effect globally – including with our US competitors.

Kind regards,

Joost Zuurbier
Verotel Merchant Services BV
I asked CCBill about these fore coming "new registration requirements", but CCBill tells me they are not aware of any new policies coming down the pike in the US.

Exactly my thoughts on this as well. For now Verotel has re-activated our account - but for how long nobody knows. We've been with Verotel for many years and have always enjoyed reliable payments and good support from them. However, due to this latest de-activation without notice fiasco...we're starting to look at our options and hoping to have a contingency plan in place very shortly.

As longtime Verotel clients, we're disappointed in the utter lack of notice before the deactivation and its certainly shaken our confidence in their ability to continue transaction processing for us.

That's interesting. When I initially read the deactivation email from Verotel, I didn't have 100% confidence in the validity of these new 'registration requirements'. To me (although I may be wrong) it read more like a money-grab on the part of Verotel than something handed down the pipe from the credit card companies.

I recall a few years ago when Verotel informed us of a slew of chargebacks that they alleged eminated from Germany - without seeing any verification at the time. Verotel claimed they'd been going on for "quite some time" without their knowledge. Subsequently, we ended up with half a year's worth of deductions from our rev cheques to offset it.

We went to try to send the 500 to them but their wire info is incomplete. We need the complete street address of the recipient bank.

Not only - I wanted to ask them about bank accounts and details about payments and fees.
I got e-mail from Mike - it was saying that they don't accept new merchants among them until May 1st. Personally I was aiming at them as Payment processors because so far they were the only one I knew who did not required any credit card fee, or any fee from fresh starters.

Now they have changed their conditions, I find no place for me and my stuff. Not because I have to pay 500 euros - to be honest I did not get if these 500 euros should be paid every month - what if I can't make decent incomes from membership?. I have nothing against their new policy - that's what they do - they grow big and successful - but their new conditions don't leave much of a chance to small fishes like me to take a breath.

That paragraph says it all

"...., it will become harder for small merchants to continue to operate. We regret this, since we have always been a great supporter of the small enterprise on the internet. We hope our new fee structure will give the opportunity for these small merchants to consolidate their multiple accounts and to grow into a higher volume account."

Probably there are things that I've missed or misunderstood - I'm kinda frustrated - but that lead me to look at CCbill or Zombayo. Would appreciate if guys around gives me advice which one of the payment companies I should choose, or guy who's Verotel supporter to tell that this would be great opportunity for new starter.....

In the last case I will start with banner and logo jobs again to collect the money to pay Verotel....

I'm aware that I can't make millions of $ with my drawings. But I know that I can make some decent incomes with them - to make this though I need no so rough conditions.

Thanks,
M.
