What's with Philly fans, btw? A lot of empty seats with still 15+ mins to go in the game. What's with this "we only support our team when they win" mentality? That goal on the Caps was pretty much the third world town dump of dirty goals, a richochet off the butt and with a healthy dose of goalie interference but, whatever, Holtby can earn his shut out next time. All that matters is the W and the Rangers getting the buzzing and ceaseless shrill sharp tone of doubt ringing in their heads...

I hope the cameras are on Tortarella when his head explodes as they lose (hopefully, fingers crossed, and on a Ovie goal that is spectacularly replayed from now until the end of days) in 7. really? i think its cause teams have guys dropping to block shots, playing defense, outstanding goaltending. of course the first round was high scoring, you have to weed out everyone that isn't as good. i don't really equate this to hockey on ice, and if you know good soccer you don't say its not exciting

I like the style of hockey being played right now actually. Then again I like it all, wide open or close checking, it's all good in my book. The best players will find a way to get it done no matter what the tone of the game is. Period. If they can't find a way to deal with it then they fucking don't deserve the Lord Stanley.

I'm okay with either the Caps or Rangers moving on, but on one note I wouldn't actually mind not having to see Tortorella's eye-rolling weasel face any more this season. Every fucking whistle that goes against him and there he goes with the stupid smirk and the ferretfaced eye-rolling, even when it's a legit deserved call. I don't hate him, he's a great coach after all, I've just had enough of him for this season. I should have added him to my "Celebs you want to punch in the face" thread. :D

I couldn't believe that idiot Phoenix player didn't shoot the puck. In the final minute he gets the puck in the high slot, has a sweet lane to let one rip but instead passes stupidly into traffic which lamely ends in giving up an empty netter to seal the game for LA.

The NHL playoffs consist of six goaltenders out-waiting each other and stopping pucks. I'm a little excited because I'd like to see L.A. or Pheonix (If there ever was a team that deserved to win - its the fucking Pheonix Coyotes... Cinderella story... Disney movie.) win the Cup.

I honestly don't care. Watch some of the old NHL Playoff replays on cable. They were - and still ARE - exciting. These playoffs are more like chess games played by sad, rich children.

and the TV ratings went into the shitter along with the quality of the game. if my team was in it the quality wouldn't matter much, winning the Cup is everything.

And heroes are needed to meet the challenge of the pure villiany that goes on, hacking, slashing, and chipping away, the goons need to be brought low. Winning the Cup is bought with blood, sweat, and tears, playing through pain and injury that would sideline a player in any other sport but the long shot of both those teams being in there is a story unto itself.
