Xbox 360 Kinect thoughts?

Well colour me underwhelmed.

Nice hardware implementation (facial recog etc), but the games look boring as fuckery.

Will you be getting one? I won't unless I see better games. And no price announcement?

at the time of your post they hadn't demoed any yet. anyways this is a new thing. You honestly think in 4 or 5 years these are the only games they'll have?

Wrong, Leo LaPorte was demoing the games on live.twit.tv at 5.30am americaland time. So I had seen the games.

I think if it lasts until the next iteration of the Xbox I will be surprised. It appears to be an attempt for MS to bite into the 'family' fun the Wii delivers.

I thought you were talking about the new black xbox 360 I saw on TV today. It has a slimmer design and they asked 299$ for it and it has a 250GB HD. But I realized it's just the same old 360. Nothing new except a sleeker design and more HD

MS's E3 news conference didn't start until 30 minutes before you posted and Kinect wasn't demoed until AFTER you posted. So if that guy was showing a demo he was committing a HUGE no no.

I didn't say that. I stated at the time you posted the games had not been OFFICALLY demoed. So A) I'm not making an opinion on something I haven't seen yet. B) At the end of the day it's a DEMO. A DEMO on TV.

Also the ability to control the interface without a controller or remote and the video calls part has to be a consideration too. Am I running out to get it when it comes out? No.

Once again, software is the weak spot. I think it will take a few years for the software to fill out.

And built in wireless-N. The current 360 has NO wi-fi
I'm not sure what else you were expecting. A XBOX 720? Maybe in 4 or 5 years.

Personally I think twice the HDD space and built in wi-fi not to mention MUCH quieter and a MUCH smaller power brick and smaller form factor overall for the SAME price is a pretty good thing.

A) there are 2 verisons. I'd wait until I know what the "cheap" version is lacking.

B) 3-D TV is the biggest waste. A fad that I hope dies a quick death.

I think the difference between the two versions is one has a motorized base.

Well as the first OFFICIAL demo was G4 at 4.30am for Good Morning America in NYC, and then at 5.30 Leo had OFFICIAL access to it LIVE with MS PR people there, I really have to tell you that you are utterly wrong.

Just cos you didn't know about it doesn't make it 'unofficial' somehow!
