Media Coverage Of The BP Oil Spill In The UK

Has been pretty much non existent. Which i find quite extraordinary to be honest. I think most people here have assumed it had been fixed/stopped quite some time ago.

I've yet to see any footage on tv of the suffering and dying wildlife, and the coastlines which have been affected, and the progess (or lack of it) from BP in fixing the problem.

I wonder if they media here have been instructed not to put everyone off using BP by the government. Hmmm...

I've seen it in the news plenty but we have our own news so can't always focus on the US.

Yes but i mean on the International news, which is supposed to cover everything. After all, this is one big story.

After posting this thread, i did actually see something about it on the news tonight, but only because they were reporting that the problem is "almost" fixed. I'm using the word almost anyway. Seems they only want to show the positives from all of this...

Of course BP will want to put a positive spin on this, far too late for this tho. Especially with that video that came out from 1979 showing the exact same "efforts" to fix that problem. It was the same bullshit they did back then, they knew how to fix this all along but were so worried about preserving the oil leaking out.

It's been on loads. BBC has had good coverage of it, even throughout the election. So has Sky. I don't get daily papers but the websites have had updates regularly too.
