Video / DVD Job Opening in Florida

I'm looking to hire a new person to work all things video related at my Cleawater, Florida studio.

My site & products are softcore, college girl style, sort of cutsie and fun.

The job includes each of the following tasks:

1... Capture footage from digital tapes, organize and back up the resulting AVI files according to a system already in place.

2... Create DVDs of 30 to 60 minutes from the footage following a certain theme. Think of DVDs like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Playboys' Wet and Wild, and other simple and fun DVDs and you get the idea. Meaning, more style and pace than a homemade fuck and suck video.

Creating a DVD includes watching and editing all footage, cutting and clipping here and there, adding audio to maintain the pace, creating all slide shows and menus, authoring the DVD, making the master and handling the duplication process. It also includes making the case insert and lightscribe graphics.

3... Creating downloadable clips from other footage. Both HD and SD. This also includes various editing to add advertisements and titles and other items to the clip, not just a quick conversion from AVI to WMV.

4... Set-up and handle our upcoming Windows streaming webcam chats and online radio show. This includes setting up the encoding computer, maintaining it (not same as editing machine used for 1, 2 or 3) and producing the twice weekly chats (models come to our studio, not working from home).

5... Handle the shipping of DVDs. Orders come in by web, mail or toll-free phone. Task 5 involves taking the order, making sure the card clears, boxing the order, weighing it and adding postage.


LOCATION: Clearwater, Florida -- just across the bay from Tampa off I-275. Work can not be done from home. I'm an asshole and insist on being involved in the creative process from step one.

Those in the area know the neaighborhood -- near Stormans Nightclub, Home Shopping Network HQ and Dupont Publishing.

HOURS: 40 a week, meaning 4 ten hour days - Monday through Thursday. Monday and Thursday are chat nights, so the hours are 11:00am to 10:00pm those nights with a one hour lunch. Tuesday and Wednesday, other hours can be set as long as they are consistant (can't change day to day, week to week) so other staff can be scheduled.

COMPENSATION: $36,000 a year. No benefits first 6 months, some thereafter. 2 weeks vacation after one year. Non-compete / non-disclosure agreement required.

COMPANY: My little company has been in the pretty girl picture business over 22 years, but video / DVD is a fairly new thing for me. I have two studios, Denver and Clearwater, and do a considerable amount of work outside those locations -- from Miami Beachs to Breckenridge snowboard slopes in the last few months.

The Clearwater studio is 4500 sqaure feet is a class "A" building. It includes 1000 SQ FT of wooden floor area that can be made to look like anything from a college girl dorm room to a living room to a formal dinning area, an carpeted 800 SQ foot area that can also be set-up as a dorm or living room, and a 30 foot wide x 18 foot high cyc wall (paintable seamless background that looks sorta like a skateboard ramp) that is large enough for cars and motorcycles (Hot Bike magazine photographer used it just last week for a cover shot).

The office used for video editing is about 300 SQ FT, is quiet and separate from shooting areas and mail-order shipping counter and is fed with its own air conditioning and Sirius Satelite radio systems. It is shared with one photoshop guy.

The building is smoke and alcohol free.

SYSTEMS: At this time we are geared up with AMD based XP Pro systems, using Movie Maker, Vegas 6, DVD Lab Pro, DVD architect, Lightscribe, Sonic Fire Pro (audio), TMPGenc encoder, Belight (audio), Photoshop CS2, Illustrator, etc. No switch to MAC based systems is planned at this time.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be age 18 or above, must live in the area (no work from home / cross country), must have experience in the tasks listed above AND be able to send confirmable samples, must be comfortable with softcore content and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL must be reliable / dependable / honest - two people have lost jobs here in last few months because they spent too much time in bars and couldn't make it to work, or be productve when here.
