I disagree, there are many beginners who start with very basic sites and self host all their videos on their own VPS. These owners usually quit in a couple months due to the sheer about of manual work.

I'm also interested in blogs and picture sites too.

It depends on the site but 10 months is not unusual for adult, especially for affiliate sites.
