if you really have a need to bump up your alexa number, get a trafficholder account and buy pop-under at less than $1/K and you can set filter for alexa users.

of course I think its mostly bot traffic so don't expect too much from it, but it should push up your alexa number, for what ever reason that you would want to do that

It's also going to toast your bounce rate, which may very well do more harm to your google ranking versus the higher alexa number !!!

celandina, why would you care if your alexa number is lower ?? It really has no meaning any longer! The only thing that a webmaster should be concerned with is the ratio of dollars that site generates, divided by the visitors to your site !!

And for the record, I was pointing out the easiest method to improve alexa rank which is what 90% of the people out there do that claim to lower alexa ranks. I would never recommend that someone actually use that method to do such a thing As I stated it will harm your search engine rankings as your bounce rate will go thru the roof.

Likely I am naive, but i understand statistics a bit. I have noted if my Alexa is 300 K my income is X but wen it gets to 150 K, my income doubles (X x 2). I did not want to make any other points...so I presume if my Alexa drops to 75 K the income will double again....etc...etc...that was my point. No more no less.

My Alexa is ONLY for monitoring my traffic and conversions ,since Google is so complicated , that 5 different entities ( paid some considerable $$$$s) were not able to sort out the simple "traffic vs conversion" ratio.

You should buy and test traffic based on how well it does for you, not what some counter says it does test, test and more testing!

So I look at Txxx.com and just by checking Alexa, in a round about way it's doing good. So who is doing better? Porn.com or Txxx.com? Would you base their rankings on Alexa by a toolbar?
