I expect a drop to 70 or even a bit lower and then back to 100 and higher.

The only advantage to mtgox's negligence has been that people are actually paying for things again with bitcoins.

is there enough fiat in the system on mondays to post a rally? is that an issue anymore???maybe a rally is coming wednesday-ish...........seems the weekend rallys are a thing of the past.....

It's a 51%/49% scenario at the moment Dyna mo.
The new money bought in at $260 and is scared shitless and trying to salvage.

Meanwhile the smart money is buying on any and every dip in the price.
That equation will shortly reverse and the price will look like before.

i hear ya, i almost bought back in at $250-ish, then realized i truly think this will all repeat itself in a couple years, so why not sit back and wait for the price to stabilize after this hype cycle. i'm actually not planning on buying back in until 3-4 more weeks+ have passed.

I just started calculating trading it within it's day range as if it were a stock you were day trading using a divergence momentum trading methodology. Note there is a significant difference in that I can only trade in one direction and not two, but as an experiment I thought I'd give it a try.

On an initial account of $2000, keeping slippage and volume in mind, and accounting for commissions (so far as their highest tier as I would start with no monthly volume) after 3 buys and 3 sales my trading account would now be worth $2229. Just over 10% turn around in about 6 hours.

I am considering funding an actual account in the closer to $5000 range (have to watch volumes as this wouldn't be scalable too much higher) and doing it for real in the next day or so. Just want to play around with it a bit more.

                                  Thoughts anyone?
                                  .

Worth noting that had I been able to sell short I'd have made a bunch more on this run down too.

here is another way it's being talked about shorted::::::

                                            Alternately, slide over to BTCjam.com.

To go long on BTC, take a loan and tie it to the BTC/USD exchange rate. Wait for it to rise and pay back the loan. Keep the difference.

To go short on BTC, take a loan and don't tie it to an exchange rate. Transfer it to CampBx and sell it. Buy it back at the lower price, ship it back to BTCjam, and pay back the loan. Keep the difference.
