How an NFL team can let their domain get away is unbelievable. I think many of you will find the article funny especially if you are into football. It's a jab at Cowboys fans.

Apparently the Dallas Organization thought the domain was only $275 lol. retracted bid when they realized what the price was.

Not to defend the Dallas Cowboys (especially since I'm an Eagles fan), but it never was the Dallas Cowboys site. This thread title and other article headlines imply that Cowboys.com was the website of the Dallas Cowboys, when in fact it wasn't. (DallasCowboys.com is...)

Just like the Eagles can be found at PhiladelphiaEagles.com, but not Eagles.com or TheEagles.com.

But they are stupid for not understanding the bid.

They have little to no benefit to owning it when they can get dallascowboys.com for $9.
Everyone that wants to find their site will still do so, and if they owned cowboys.com they would never intend on selling it since the team / football is not going away anytime soon, so there is no monetary gain. Only gain is that it is a shorter url, which they shouldn't care about since most people will have them bookmarked, click a link from following them on a social network or phone app, or find them in the first link on google results. It was a good choice saving themselves hundreds of thousands.
