Kreator coming out with Endless Pain back in the early/mid 80's was a breath of fresh air, pure German Thrash metal.... still touring

What constitutes extreme? Because I am drunk right now listening to At The Gates. But if you are going to make me think you lost me here. There is some (probably the best right now) great music from Scandinavia that is extreme:

Amorphis
Sentenced - which turned into Poisonblack
Amon Amarth (who played last Friday for 3 hours and I missed it)
Soilwork

But what do you call extreme - Anathema whom Cradle Of Filth covered? Cemetary? Emperor? 3 Inches Of Blood (I live in Canada now so I have to say that - but I coukd say shit like Crytopsy or Triptykon (which was Tom G Warriors mistake after EXTREME Celtic Frost)

Tales From A Thousand Lakes is nothing like what they are doing now but if you want an absolutely KILLER song from Amorphis (their best) and its recent, listen to Toward And Against. Such a fucking amazing song. Purely perfect.

Now I'm listening to Helloween because I can't wait for Oktoberfest.

By the way, as good as In Flames is, Dark Tranquillity was In Flames before they were.
