Wikileaks about to spill the beans on BofA?

Bank of America may be the next target of a cache of Wikileaks documents.

Earlier this week, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange said that he planned to release tens of thousands of documents on one of the largest banks in the U.S. The documents would reveal unethical behavior at the bank that would likely prompt official investigations and reforms, Assange said.

Anonymous whistleblowers :thumbsup

damn, look at a way to give them info

Quote:

If your leak is extremely high risk, you may wish to post away from your local post office at a location that has no witnesses or video monitoring.

Many CD and DVD writers will include the serial number of the DVD or CD writer onto the CD/DVDs they write. If the post is intercepted this information can in theory be used to track down the manufacturer and with their co-operation, the distributor, the sales agent and so on. Consider whether there are financial records connecting you to the CD/DVD writer sale if your adversary is capable of intercepting your letter to us and has the will to do this type of expensive investigation. Pay cash if you can for the CD/DVD writer.

Similarly, CD and DVD media themselves include a non-unique manufacturing "batch number" for each group of around 10,000 CD/DVDs made. Pay cash when buying the CD or DVD. Try to choose a store without video cameras at the register.

Although we are aware of no instances where the above has been successfully used to trace an individual, anti-piracy operations have used the information to trace piracy outfits who sell tens or hundreds of thousands of counterfeit CDs or DVDs.

If you post it to us, a good option is to encrypt the USB file/CD file and then contact us at a later date via live online chat with the encryptin passphrase. That way if the post is intercepted, the data can not be copied.

If you suspect you are under physical surveillance, discreetly give the letter to a trusted friend or relative to post. On some rare occasions, targets of substantial political surveillance have been followed to the post office and have had their posted mail seized covertly. In this rare case if you are not intending to encrypt the data and if the police or intelligence services in your country are equipped to perform DNA and/or fingerprint analysis you may wish to take the appropriate handling precautions.

It will be interesting to see what is in the hard drive belonging to the CEO of BofA.

People, so called "whistle blowers" steal it and send it to Wikileaks. They have several special systems setup to guard and guarantee your anonymity, often they do not even want to know your identity. They have a section on their page explaining how to send stuff to them and what to think of.

Sweet.. big business has fucked the country, the world actually and continues to do it every day.. They all need to get strung up by their testicles.

mynameisjim 11-30-2010 06:06 PM

Another article made a good point about this. Everyone knows the banks are insolvent and basically stole nearly a trillion dollars from tax payers while paying themselves the biggest salaries in history. Then after they got bailed out they went on a foreclosure spree full of fraud and "robo signers". Not to mention they never started loaning out money which is why we bailed them out in the first place.

What could possibly damage their image? Do they eat puppies at the board meetings? lol

All you do is ask retarded, quippy questions. You do that because its safe. You can feel like you're making a point, but you are doing it without the risk of actually making a point and opening yourself up to having your points picked apart and risking looking like an idiot.

Its easy to understand why so many people think you're a dipshit.

Is this better?

u-Bob: I have a feeling you do not know what irony means. There is nothing ironic about wikileaks providing info about BofA and also being a conduit for Manning unless you consider a newspaper ironic.

I know what irony means.

I also know that you reply to countless threads every day with a very short, condescending and often rhetorical question because you don't have the balls to actually debate an issue and take a position or articulate any kind of interesting or provocative or insightful thoughts on the issue.

And I wasn't talking to you, was I? I was restating my question to u-Bob, hoping to meet with your satisfaction.

No, I debate when there is a point in debating but with some people there is no point. Whether you appreciate is is of little importance, because as mentioned above, I probably wasn't talking to you then either.

Actually you senile turd, you questioned whether or not I know what irony means to which I responded.

Up your meds.

Your general pattern of behavior is to make short, condescending and rhetorical questions in almost every post you make because you have nothing of value to add to any conversation.

Thats not a choice, thats simply you understanding your own limits.

As someone that has money in banks and investments, I am not sure we can handle the truth. :2 cents:

Everybody already knows the truth. The banks pulled a giant scam on everybody and nearly bankrupted the planet. How does proof change anything? When you can ask the government for nearly one trillion dollars with no strings attached and they cut the check within a few days, that means you pretty much operate above the law.

No amount of leaking can damage anybody at the top anymore.

xenigo 11-30-2010 10:29 PM

I love how everyone in government is having an uproar about the truth being revealed. "This is a threat to national security", etc. WTF? The leak does not threaten anything, except to reveal that these people are fucking retarded. Why don't these people work on not doing stupid shit that threatens national security, and then the threat to national security won't have a chance of being revealed...

But no, these people want to continue doing the idiotic shit that got them in trouble in the first place, all while calling the "leak" a problem.

These people can't see past their noses...

epitome 11-30-2010 10:47 PM

Alrighty then.

Who does everybody bank with? I may be needing a new one soon. ;)

I have accounts with Wells Fargo, and a small credit union. I think I'd recommend a credit union over a bank. They tend to be less fee oriented.

Even funnier is when he is proven to be an idiot he quietly leaves the thread.

pamon 11-30-2010 11:47 PM

He needs to release it before he gets popped by Interpol. All banks are unethical. When you're the size of Bogart's just more skeletons to hide. The purchase of Countrywide could fill volumes full of bad loan debt files. Go get 'em wikileaks.

Following the latest baring of U.S. secrets on the Internet, Congress is poised to pass legislation giving employees in the most sensitive government jobs a way to report corruption, waste and mismanagement without turning to outside organizations like WikiLeaks.

u-Bob: I have a feeling you do not know what irony means. There is nothing ironic about wikileaks providing info about BofA and also being a conduit for Manning unless you consider a newspaper ironic.

Wikileaks has in the past released a lot of information about government cover ups, fraud, drug dealing,... and about US military activities in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan,... A common reaction to wikileaks releasing information about military activities has been that it would somehow put US troops at risk. The fact that it may be the disclosed activities themselves and not the fact that they are being disclosed that provoke negative reactions doesn't seem to cross those people's minds. It also doesn't cross their mind that "it will harm the troops" is an easy way for those that ordered unethical actions to shift he attention away from their own responsibilities. It's called shooting the messenger.

Now if someone posted the often misused line "it will harm the troops" in response to a post that wikileaks will disclose information about unethical behavior in the banking world (something that's totally unrelated to the troops), one could consider that to be use of irony.

:2 cents:

Sadly, you don't know what irony means if you think there is any in this thread.

Unless you mean irony in the alanis morrissette sense of the word? ie not at all.
