LOST FANS.... or Did you watch LOST?

I started watching this show. I am on season 2 now.

Is there a point behind all the weird coincidences or does the show just keep throwing them all in with no explanation or reason?

Maybe its to smart for me but so far alot of the show feels like they are just making it up as they go.

Sly 11-29-2010 11:03 AM

You pretty much got it.

Slutboat 11-29-2010 11:12 AM

It ties everything together very nicely - too bad that coherence doesn't stay till the end

Evil Chris 11-29-2010 11:14 AM

Season 2 was the season that got me completely hooked.

Great series all the way through.

When does that happen?
lol

Slutboat 11-29-2010 11:21 AM

it happens - stay with it, the writers planned it - as chaotic as it may seem

pornguy 11-29-2010 11:23 AM

I liked 1 2 3 but 4 was strange and have not seen the final yet.

czarina 11-29-2010 11:25 AM

I haven't seen season 6. I'll rent it during my xmas vacation and vegetate in front of the TV for a whole week. Can't wait! :)

Argos88 11-29-2010 11:26 AM

Don't waste your time, man...

I won't tell you the end, but it really sucks and 90% of the misteries are never told or explained... So, you will waste your time.

Season 1 and 2 rock.. and you think you are seeing the best series ever.. but then it only goes downhill... until season 6... The series overall sucks...

.

Don't bother.....Unless you are looking for a message from God.

CDSmith 11-29-2010 11:30 AM

I watched it pretty faithfully for the first few seasons, then LOST interest in it later on due to all the increasingly ridiculous flash-forwards and flashbacks. When they started going into the past and visiting the island back when they first got there etc I quit watching altogether. Had no time to keep track of it all, the 8000 clues and hint scenes and clues from the future/past etc etc. Enough already! :D

heh, I enjoyed the series well enough.

I get the feeling already so many things that leave you like WTF just happened will never be explained.

Its entertaining but I still feel robbed lol

O MARINA 11-29-2010 11:33 AM

What? never seen it yet

scuba steve 11-29-2010 11:36 AM

the last season could be the most epic let down of a tv series, along with the finale. :( leaves too many questions, stalls and wastes time with things. sounds dumb, but to watch it up to the last season and not see the final might be more enjoyable, so you aren't being let down

bronco67 11-29-2010 11:46 AM

It loses its way in the middle somewhere, but gets back on track for a fantastic final season and ending. Don't expect to have every mystery answered -- if you stick with it, you'll realize all of that stuff is secondary to the characters.

There's also people that think the show is about finding out every single answer to all of the mysteries, and they're entitled to that -- but the show is foremost about the people, and they wrap that whole aspect up in a very satisfying way.

BTW, Scuba, many of the questions were answered. There wasn't much left hanging.

Jowebart 11-29-2010 11:47 AM

the show is great , the ending was very confusing , but that's my opinion !

You either smoke a lot of crack or thump a lot of Bibles.

they SORTA almost tie them together in a lame abstract sorta way in the last episode, but for the most part no.

the writers desperately want you to think it's too smart for you, but you're correct, they're just making it up as they go.

save yourself the next 4 seasons and just go right to "This sucks balls"

Tantrixxx 11-29-2010 01:28 PM

I stopped watching that show after the second episode.

quiet 11-29-2010 01:29 PM

i really liked it. it is what it is. they worked out some stuff in the final season, and left much open ended. i dig that sort of thing. i feel the same about many of the books i read.

Slutboat 11-29-2010 01:31 PM

yes the end sucked - bad.. but some inspired writing and drama throughout the run of the series...

quiet 11-29-2010 01:34 PM

has anyone here watched the extra 15 minutes at the end on the season 6 dvd. i have it on bluray but haven't gotten around to cracking the plastic.

hey bronco i understand what you're saying, but there was so much that was unanswered, such as the reason for the dharma initiative, when it expired, how they got supplies, how they were able to pop between worlds, what happened to some of the characters like ben, the math guy from cambridge, etc. i mean i know you can say they were all dead when the plane crashed or it was a dream or whatever, but it seemed like much more

QFT... the stories are from their point of view, so dont expect everything to be answered. But in the end it makes sense.

With all of the crazy shit happening logistically and technically, you're wondering how Dharma got supplies?

All of that stuff had an answer in some form or another, maybe not directly -- if you paid attention. Lost is a couple of tiers above garbage like CSI where everything is spoon fed to you.

---and they were not dead the whole time. It's just obvious you didn't pay much attention to what was going on, and spent a lot of energy on things like why the polar bears never showed up again.

suspend all disbelief and questions - and just enjoy it for what it is ... an entertaining departure from reality

Fantastic series, although it may seem to sag in the middle (not too much), it's well worth it overall in the end. Although of course now there are spoilers in the thread which kind of ruins things. Not to mention the naysayers. I found the finale quite rewarding. I guess it's a matter of expectations. If you care about the characters and are able to suspend disbelief for the sake of enjoying something you'll enjoy it. It's not as clever as it thinks it is, and there are holes in the logic, but I've never seen the point in being so negative you can't enjoy something for what it is, it's like cutting off your nose to spite your face. It seems a lot of people wanted answers to every last little thing and just can't stand things (not exactly important ones either) being left ambiguous.
I'm a vociferous atheist and even I didn't mind the ending. *shrugs*

used to watch, then it just got too far out for me to keep up with
