Billionaire hedge fund manager says you should give back to the system that allowed you to get rich.

"I think anyone who doesn't give credit to the system that they are born into is taking an awful lot onto themselves. I mean, I really think that people have sacrificed a lot more than a little tax money to make that system available for all of us. And I would be ashamed of myself if I didn't give some credit to them," Steyer said, choking up and pausing to regain his composure. In before 12clicks. :upsidedow |
How noble of him :upsidedow

Seems like a nice guy.

Giving something back leads to getting more wealth. Whether you give back by spending your money at home, re-investing at home or in taxes it all adds to your own wealth.
It's when people ship their wealth out of the country that made them rich that the country suffers. Money in motion. |
There's just too many other attractive places in this world to be so in love with America. Even if you do pull out completely, they still want part of your worldwide income.

that's nice of him, but he is not alone, many billionaires give back through charities... :thumbsup
|
good for him, great piont.

This country was built on fake money and stolen land... seems fitting :2 cents:

how easy it would be to engender good public will by donating... they wont notice a couple zeros less, and they get this shiny new image!
seems like a good guy though |
It's easy for Billionaires to preach about giving back, because they have so much they could give a million dollars and not even miss it, It would be like most people here giving back $10.
It's also funny, almost everyone with tons of money will tell you money isn't everything. It's easy to say when you have a ton of it, try putting yourself in the shoes of everyone else and see how important money is to your happiness then. |

If they hand the money out on the street then they are giving back. If they give to a charity they are getting back and making someone else rich at the same time. Think about Good Will and the guy that was the CEO. |

They do give back. It's called tax. And whether you like it or not that fact is that the top few percent pay most of the tax for the poor.
