For the long time members

...I realize that it is early Sunday morning here in the states but wasn't there a time when this board used to move 24/7...or am I remembering wrong? There seems to be fewer and fewer posts...especially at night.

porn is officially dead in it's current incarnation. many people have given up and thrown in the towel. You should know this, K. ...or have you been gone for a long long time?!?

Yes, things have indeed slowed down. I'm up at 4:30 trying to contact offshore affiliates and fighting The Blue Screen of Death on one of the PCs. I hate it when affiliates dodge me. :(

Traffic has been a big zero the last few days, what with all the sheep out squandering what money they have on cheap shit for the so-called "holiday". Nothing is going to happen until after the first of the year and then things will be sort of OK up until a few weeks before tax time and then everything will go to shit again.

Happens every year.

Yeah I remember when a new post that did not get a lot of replies was on page 3 in a couple hours. but even with the slowdown this is still the fastest moving forum in the biz that I am aware of.

The slowdown is a mixed blessing in some instances though, a new thread has a lot more chance of being seen now :)

Adult is shrinking.
Affiliates are disappearing.
Many of the people who post during the day are reps and people employed by companies. They are employees and post during the day as part of their job. For the most part that's the only reason they are here. They aren't usually going to want to "work" at night and on weekends too.

I wouldn't be surprised if within 3 years GFY becomes a closed place for sponsors and major tube or forum owners. In a way it's already moved towards this with so many affiliates leaving the industry. There will likely come a point where buying ad space targeted to affiliates here no longer makes sense. :2 cents:

This board used to fly. Other boards too. Now most of the boards are dead.

It's just a sign of the times. The entry barrier to this industry is very low - anyone can join, and the money was easy. Now that you have to work for it people went back to work at Wendy's, other fast food jobs, and Wal Mart.

Same is true for many sponsors. There was the dream of getting rich overnight. The massive returns and the growth phase. Now that the industry is on the decline and you have to actually run a business properly forming real partnerships, branding, and building trust many simply don't have the skills. It's a lot harder to survive when Visa no longer allows you to bang surfers for $200 worth of hidden pre-checked cross sales and you're unable to continue with these sorts of scams. And of course if your name is mud among the few savvy veteran affiliates left because you've been screwing people for years and they know it (even if they haven't had the guts to call you out on the boards), what can you really do? It's no wonder so many cut and run.

I think things are slow as it's a Holiday weekend in the US.
