Want to increase revenue 16x? [MUST READ]

You are not going to fucking believe this.

Turner Group did some research about online ads in 30 minute shows.

First the bad news.

They concluded when you put a one minute ad in a 30 minute show online, only 40% of people watch the whole show. Not great at all for the content producer.

Now the good news.

If you put 16 minutes ads in that same 30 minute show, 37% of people watch the whole thing.

Are you with me?

That means they made 16 times as much revenue from the same piece of content whilst losing only 3% of their eyeballs.

I am sure I don’t need to spell this out to you, but if you applied that logic to porn sites, you could multiple your revenue 16 fold.

There you go, I’ve saved the industry. :D

PS Now, HuluPlus manages to charge a subscription fee AND stream ads too. Think about THAT for a second.

PPS For Paul et al, I am not *actually* suggesting you can get away with putting 16 mins of ads in a 30 minute porn scene, but obviously you can massively increase the number of ads shown without putting people off. Which will lead to a huge increase in revenue.

If everyone does It you can have as much ad's in free porn as you want. The problem is the ones with less ad's will have the more traffic, kinda like how the more free has the more traffic.

I imagine someone said that about pre and post roll ads. And overlay ads. And interstitials.

Once upon a time.

Yea you can surely take It further but at some point the ones with less ad's will gain more traffic.

Be happy with the good traffic that works. :)

yea sure but It's not always that more ad's mean more $$ either. That only applies if you sell ad's like TV etc.

The same identical TV channel, one has 15min of commercials per hour the other has 7min, which one would you look at?

How do you know that "they made 16 times as much revenue from the same piece of content"?

Ie, Jusrt becase an advert lasts 16 times longer does not mean it costs 16 times more or increases sales 16 times.

Another poinless Damian thread that he just copied and pasted from another website.

PS

Its Nov 27th on Sat. That means I will be back.

Your opinion is valid.

However, actual RESEARCH has shown that if there are 16 minutes of ads in a 30 minute ONLINE show, 37% of people watch all of it. And if there is 1 minute 40% of people watch all of it.

And that means if porn sites put more ads in, they would make more money without losing a significant number of eyeballs.

There is no basic formula as there are too many variables in porn but the way that we have advertised traditionally over the years has been very very poor.

16 minutes ads in a 30 minute show??? That's crazy. I dont even watch TV anymore because of all the commercials. I always download rips of the shows I want to see.

This is probably correct if you in some way can get paid per second of advertising. It also only applies if you actually have the eyeballs there to start the video, which might not be the case if you have 16x more ad's in the same video as 100 other sites do.

OK, cool. Forget the whole thing.

I thought as research showed that audience figures dropped by only 3% when ads were increased 16 fold that might mean something of interest to porn people.

My bad.

Clearly unless you are selling tv ads to agencies by the second everything in that research is useless.

;)
