Are they going to trademark the word "book" too?

I still don't see how this can go through even if it is limited to just social networks, because the website faceparty.com which is also a social network has been around quite a while longer, so surely if anyone could lay claim it would be them?

article contains an update saying facebook somehow has to use the actual word 'face' in some form of commerce, or won't have any rightful claim on the patent.. or something

I think Facebook should only use the word “Face” in conjunction with “book.” Company names like Pornbook, Friendbook, Dogbook, Catbook and Birdbook should be allowed to be created, irrelevant of Facebook.

If you don't like what they are up to, stop using their services.
