Mythbuster Adam Savage got TWO 12" STEEL RAZOR BLADES through TSA Body Scanner! *VIDEO*
...and a pocket full of nuts and bolts. |
This is perfect. WTF TSA is right. Shit is so broken.

He had them in his laptop bag, they did not go thru the body scanner. If it is even a true story. The nuts and bolts were in his laptop bag also and as often as I fly I have never seen any sign anywhere saying you can not carry nuts and bolts on a plane.
And personally, I am glad stuff gets thru or I would be in big trouble. |
That is highly ridiculous.
|
Yep he said in his bag. they get scanned but the people running those scanners are usually to stupid or busy checking out the ass in line.

The video was posted in May. The current body scanners were not out at that point yet. Though even without the body scanners, still laughable.
Worried about bras and miss razor blades. |
what is with all the giggling and laughing at every sentence?

I always found it amusing that I can't bring a pocket knife, but they will gladly furnish me with a knife once we get in the air. |

Excellent. Now the terrorists know how to smuggle razor blades onto a plane.

Scrap the bullshit program. It does not work. Lets implemented the Israeli system of profiling. I think they have a better grasp of airport security. |

the truth is, its easy to get a bomb on a plane.
you simply take the parts on seperatly by 2 or 3 different people and construct it on the plane. however why bother with a plane? there are far easer targets. trains would be a clear and easy target, as blow up a train it could kill more people, plus close the train network down. The question is why havce there not been regular strikes in both UK and USA. In the UK the recent attacts were by locals, with low knoledge on bomb making. When the IRA was active they would strike almost weekly. |
I believe this to be a joke.
And if he did not come clean and say that to the audience...shame on him. Perhaps the video was cut off too early? I don't believe this was real. |
Airport security is a joke. i was flying this summer, and happened to have 2 Bic lighters on me, one in my pocket for use, and one in my luggage. When the scanners detected my lighter in my luggage they made me remove it. Policy says only one lighter per person. They asked if I was traveling with anyone else I could give that lighter to for the flight. I said no, so in the garbage it went, because clearly the difference between a safe flight and taking the whole plane down is somewhere between one and two Bic lighters, and adequate security to prevent such an explosive device is handing the lighter off to the guy sitting next to me.
WTF? |
They need to start checking passengers on private jets.

TSA has a 60-70% fail rate, I even saw this on a report on MSNBC.
You would be surprised what you can carry on. I flew about 3 flights round trip with a 4" blade/bottle opener combo in the front of my laptop bag. I bought it in vegas and never took it out. I only noticed when I was going through my bag, but it is a 5" by 1/2" steel plate with two folding out objects... not easy to spot. With all my flying, Ive been asked only once to surrender an item... it was a week old Mack 3 razor I used once. "Watch out air travelers, he could give you a clean shave" :1orglaugh |
Interesting vid, I can't believe he passed with the razors... Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup

Needs a haircut.

The whole TSA thing isn't about security, it's about making money (and a few other things as well, but not about security)
