US gold reserev has not been audited since 1950. No one has access to the Fort Knox where the store the gold unless they gain permission from the president. No one can access to all the vaults at one time. It was reported that there wasn't much massive gold inflow/outflow in the past 50 years. They also changed the name of gold reserve to "deep storage gold". What the hell is deep storage gold?!?!?! What is the probability of having no or a lot less gold in the vault?

Probably they figured they could crash the markets so the gold triple in value, then they bailout everyone (but ask them to pay it back later), then they sell all the gold and use 1/3 to pay off all debts, reinvest 1/3 in gold (should give back the same amount of gold) and use the rest for free healthcare reforms.

This is why I buy physical instead of etfs.. The government has done so much misreporting and misrepresenting recently and in the past 50 years, it's unlikely they have as much precious metals reserves as they say.

I saw on Discovery a couple months ago they had a "Inside Fort Knox" show that showed some of the security measures they take. They did show some gold rooms with gold bars stacked up floor to ceiling but as mentioned before their security will only allow one vault open at one time. They also have copies of important US documents in their. Maybe Obama's Birth Certificate LOL

It is not unheard of, 100s of millions of dollars of fake gold has been found this year. But it would be Tungsten plated in gold.

Wondered why no one mentioned that the reason they do not call it "gold reserve" any more is because the US has been continuously printing more dollars then they can back up with gold bars.

It used to be so that every dollar was backed up by gold, but since they bought a zillion printers, it's now backed by Xerox shares and God

The USD isn't backed my precious metals anymore so it doesn't matter if there is gold there or not.
