come on i know some of you guys kiss your kids.
|
I know a lot of parents that do that even as their kids are full grown. A little strange if you weren't raised like that, especially in the US where everything is Tabo but in some countries is common.

My family does. It's normal for me, but my girl finds it weird.
Her family are the weird ones, they don't talk much and there's no affection shown in any way whatsoever. |

I saw SOME europeans who do, yuck! |

I do now my kids are really young. But I'm guessing there will be a cut off around the 8 or 9 year old mark. Probably when that is will be determined by my sons not me.

stop being so uptight ;)

I don't think its weird tbh that's how some families show affection. But if my dad kissed me on the lips id probably punch his lights out lol.
|
My daughter which is 8 gets a kiss on the forehead. That's how it has always been.

Drop the creepy attitude. I pray you never have kids but - if you do - you will want to hug them and kiss them every day you're alive. On the lips? Not so much. But every time I see my kids - and they live with me so I see them a lot - I want to hug them, grab them in my arms, and smother them with kisses. They're both in their 20's so they know I can't do that. They also know that I would grab them up and kiss them 'till they peed themselves if I could. I can remember the day when my daughter's head was in my hand and her little feet pressed against my bicep. She may be 21 now, but everytime I see her I think of that tiny baby. |
always some dumb ass trolls whats my mother have to do with this? that's grade school humor master fail.
|
My parents never really did that, but they'd make me kiss my grandmothers, usually on the lips.
I don't think I'd consider that weird...as long as they're not frenching their kids. I find things like "kiss hello" with people you don't know much weirder, and that used to be more normal (like Richard Dawson on Family Feud). |
When they were little, yes.
|
When I was a little kid, yes. I really don't see that as creepy unless they go for tongues.

no no no!! never ever on the lips with my kids...I think that's a little bit sick to be honest :disgust
|
Kids should only be kissed either on their cheek or forehead. I never understood why parents kiss their kids on the lips. That's weird.

I did as a child but I'm from the south so it's ok
|
When they are babies I kiss them pretty frequently.
Once they start talking and can be taught that kisses go on the cheek, I start teaching them right away. |

Russians do it normally, seen it in a bunch of movies. I think it's a normal practice, but I also think there comes a time in the kid's life when that needs to stop.
Daddy kissing his 15 year old boy in the lips? eek! |
When i was a kid we used to have make out tests when we are at the bar on my moms Margarita nights with her and all her friends. I don't remember details but i think there was tongue in order to win. I doing make outs for more fancy kids drinks with cherry's and shit in them. :pimp I guess it really depends how you grow up. Ide like my daughter to kiss me on the lips when she is like 15-21 when she is going out and before she leaves. She might come back pregnant or something then my parenting life is toast.

on the lips seems like too much. i see some people do it, seems strange to me. nothign wrong with kissing your kid in general but i feel the cheek is more appropriate.
living next to quebec, some people kiss each other one both cheeks every time they meet. i think its gross. yes, lets all line up and then kiss the same persons cheek after someone else kissed it 2 seconds ago... |
my kids 6 now and i stopped like a year ago

I find it a little weird, especially when the kids are over 10
|
Nope never ever kissed my kids on the lips, I give them tons of kisses on the head cheek but never ever on the lips! Never was raised like that!
|
The only family member that I've kissed on the lips as an adult, was my grandmother and I did till the day she died.

Some people are just fuckin plain stupid in this world... They probably never got affection in their whole life. |
My son turns 12 today. About the only time he ever kisses me on the lips is when I drop him back off at his moms. He usually leans in the window and gives me a peck. Usually he is the one that directs where it goes anyways. Sometimes on the cheek, sometimes on the lips.
Although it happens far less as time goes on. I'm sure its on its way out the door as he becomes a teenager and just mumbles at me and gives me the courtesy one of the boys hand gesture bye... |
|
My son is two and a half, and I often make a kissy face at him, to which he'll occasionally give me a peck. It's not creepy or with any sexual connotation, it's just culture.
Also, my parents and I usually kiss each other on the cheek when we greet each other, and the same would go for uncles, aunts, and grand parents. Being full blooded Greek, this is not at all strange to me. In Greece, it's more common for relatives to give each other a peck on the lips in greeting, but I've found this is most common when someone greets the spouse of a brother or sister, who is of the opposite gender. |
My son does some times like that and its no big deal.. He will grow out of it. he sees mom and dad do it so why not him.

I find it hard to believe that anyone that is actually a parent would have a problem kissing their child on the lips.
There is not much better in life than to have your son or daughter come running up to, jump in your arms and plant a kiss on you. Only some kind of a freak would find a problem with that. |

Then you have problems IMO

Parents do in some cultures and they can kiss their own kids dirty bums for all I care but when I see someone's relatives kissing OTHER kids on the lips after they just ate or had a cigarette to me it's gross and I would not allow it
