Are you really this stupid? It can't be on a thursday if it was on a thursday in 2008. It has to be on a saturday.

marketsmart 11-19-2010 01:49 PM

i'm surprised most of you fat pathetic losers care what day thanksgiving is on..

its not like you have any family proud enough of you to invite you over to their house to have a nice meal...

face it, its going to be another year of you sitting home alone chugging natural ice and eating a swansons turkey tv dinner...

You could always try looking at this marvelous little creation called a CALENDAR! CALENDARS have been around for quite some time and can even be found online. And you're sure as Hell one to complain about not getting a straight answer from me in light of some of your replies to my posts in the past.

And what is up with all those FAKE green "Reps" in your avatar?

I understand you're telling me it's Thursday this year, i'd just like to know why. It was on Thursday in 2008, so 2 years later it's supposed to be on Saturday. Weird.

my great great great grandfather lived in plymouth and they celebrated on sunday because that was the sabbath day and a day to give thanks..

they also used thanksgiving as an excuse to invite the savages on the same day they held church service in an attempt to get them to embrace christianity..

so, you stand corrected that thanksgiving has not always been on thursday..

i believe it was francis xavier thomas that moved thanksgiving to thursdays around 1887 because the shop keeper would close on sundays and you couldn't run out and get anything last minute if one needed like a sack of potatoes or crib of corn..

In the United States:

Thanksgiving is observed on every fourth Thursday of November. The holiday is celebrated in remembrance of the pilgrims and in order to give thanks.

2010
-
Thursday, November 25th
2011
-
Thursday, November 24th
2012
-
Thursday, November 22nd
2013
-
Thursday, November 28th

Tom_PM 11-19-2010 02:39 PM

Whose the idiot now Machete_ ??

Caligari 11-19-2010 04:35 PM

Thanksgiving is an american holiday recalling the time when pilgrims and indians sat down every Tuesday to give thanks for all of the things they had. Well, the pilgrims mainly.

seeric 11-19-2010 04:37 PM

Every Thanksgiving is on a Thursday, regardless of the date.

Third Thursday in the month of November, every year.

For USA anyhow.

its a private museum only for wealthy people and free masons so i'm sure someone with your pedigree would not be invited or even know its whereabouts..

Pedigree? Ha! I will have you know that I am a tried and true Purina man. Pedigree has far too much filler and is infrequently on sale.

Hey, at least you acknowledge the fact that it can't be on the same weekday every year.

Who has more credibility, your great great granddad - the original people who started the holiday, or the Gen Y dumbasses here?

Exactly.
