one year while dating my ex, she gave me $97 cash in a card. Why $97? because her relative gave her $100 and she used $3 to buy me a card and gave me the change

Yeah my ex almost gave me a vacuum cleaner. He thought it was an awesome idea because it made my life so much easier. Thankfully some friends of mine set him straight!

Worst gift I ever got? Hmmm probably clothes I'll never wear but were a "final sale" so I couldn't exchange or take them back.

I guess a cash gift is better, because she can spend it on whatever she wants. Unless you know exactly what she wants - then you can provide the right gift + freight.
