ecigarette programs?

anyone tried selling these on adult sites with any success?

BradBreakfast 11-18-2010 10:03 AM

BluCigs ripped a friend and I off, then changed their affiliate program script and nobodies original login worked. I've heard some people never got credited for sales. BluCigs is fucked up but I don't know about any other program.

BradBreakfast 11-18-2010 10:13 AM

I honestly don't think BluCigs intended to rip affiliates off, I think it was a combination of bad staff and a poorly designed affiliate program.

I could never try to sell them again, they affiliate support was rather LACKING.

traumatics 11-18-2010 10:48 AM

BluCigs is definitely the best program ;-)

Fat Panda 11-18-2010 11:34 AM

Blu Cigs is currently ass backwards. They strictly enforce their trademark on productive affiliates promoting exclusively Blu Cigs but ignore trademark infringement by 1000s of sites using the Blu brand to sell other electronic cigarettes.

Blu also screwed the initial AEBN affiliates who helped put Blu on the map reducing the promised 30% commission on all sales to $15 per starter kit (25% commision) and $2 per cartridge (8% commission LOL) sale.

Personally I'm very close to stop promoting Blu and have been searching for other popular electronic cigarette programs. Any suggestions?

Come to think of it blu shut my account too, and they reduced my 35% long ago. Got like 1 $60 check from them ever as I recall.

They also ripped me off as well. I didn't get paid and eventually was unable to get hold of anyone or log into my stats.

Fat Panda 11-18-2010 03:20 PM

looks like ill be switching my sites over to Green Smoke

Tempest 11-18-2010 03:36 PM

Well that's a shame... was going to promote blucigs

wildwildwest 11-18-2010 06:29 PM

FYI: I had big problems with Blucigs...

(copied from another board, justuswebmasters.com from May 2010)

5-28-10 I signed up to promote Blucigs back in April of 2009. Selling very well, until all of a sudden, my conversions went to -0-, while click-thru traffic actually increased. Several people that I knew personally made purchases through my websites (including my sister) that never showed up as sales in my stats. I even emailed the order numbers to BlueCig support, but those sales never did show up in my stats. The products, however, were eventually delivered.
After emailing everyone (April, Jordan, Support) at AEBN/Blucig, I expected the issue to get resolved. It has never been resolved, and needless to say I stopped promoting Blucigs on my websites.
I can understand a decrease in conversions, but to go from 1:39 to -ZERO- in one month? And not because my traffic decreased, it actually increased. My click-thrus increased. And it happened completely at the end of a month. Increased traffic yet zero conversions. Some confirmed sales too. It did not make sense.
I was disappointed in not being able to get this issue resolved and I'm sorry to say this did not have a happy ending. I still don't understand why AEBN failed to investigate this problem.

6-2-10 So where is all the money I'm supposed to have made since June, 2009 if the problems are "long gone"?
Not one dime from you guys. Even though I personally KNOW people (and have BluCig order numbers!) who have bought products using my ref code links.
And no responses from many emails to AEBN/BluCig folks either. Really, the problems are long gone, Mitchell?

6-8-10 I finally received a response from the AEBN/BlueCig folks.
Although they have "access" to their old system, where all of the data is, they can't identify all of the traffic/conversions that I sent to their site beginning 6/1/09.
My stats at the time indicated the traffic I sent to them was increasing on a daily basis. I had received my initial check from them for around $400 (for the month of May). Beginning 6/1/09, the clicks increased substantially but my sales went from 1:39 to -zero-. Not ONE sale for the entire month of June 2009.
After several months of emails and no response from them, I discontinued promoting BluCigs and removed their ads/banners and posts from all of my blogs.
My stats at the time showed over 1,000 hits sent to their site for the month of June 2009.
Their response to me:

Quote:

I may be able to credit 4 commissions from starter kits purchases. Commissions from starter kit purchases are $11.99 each (or they were back in June 2009).
[...]
We can add another two and offer four, but please be aware that would only amount to $47.96.

I've explained to management what happened but my hands are tied at this point.
I'm very disappointed after all of the hard work I did to promote them. I would have started to promote them again had their "settlement" offer been a little more realistic. The problem belonged to them and originated with their affiliate system. I didn't contribute to the problem and was very effective at delivering traffic.
I'm also surprised at their response and expected more from a company like AEBN. Not a happy ending.

To be fair, I did receive a small check from AEBN shortly after this thread, but there was no "explanation or accounting" indicating what the check was for... I am unable to log-in to their console as well.

More information about e-cigs: (I'll look for the sources if anyone wants)

The FDA's Division of Pharmaceutical Analysis analyzed the ingredients in a small sample of cartridges from two leading brands of e-cigarettes. In releasing its information, the FDA did not identify the two companies, but said in one sample, diethylene glycol -- a chemical used in antifreeze that is toxic to humans -- was detected. Other samples detected carcinogens that are dangerous to those who smoke them, the FDA said.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Wednesday that laboratory tests on popular smoking devices known as electronic cigarettes have found they contain carcinogens and other toxic chemicals dangerous to humans.
Quote:

Washington (CNN) -- "Electronic cigarettes" that vaporize nicotine juice to inhale instead of smoke from burning tobacco do not deliver as promised, according to research at Virginia Commonwealth University.

"They are as effective at nicotine delivery as puffing on an unlit cigarette," said Dr. Thomas Eissenberg, at the school's Institute for Drug and Alcohol Studies.

His study, funded by the federal National Cancer Institute, is the first by U.S. doctors to check the function of so-called "no-smoke tobacco" devices, which are unregulated in the United States for sale or use.

The latest clinical evidence suggests users are not getting the addictive substance they get from smoking tobacco. "These e-cigs do not deliver nicotine," Eissenberg said of the findings he expects to publish in an upcoming issue Tobacco Control, a product of the British Medical Journal Group.

This past summer, Eissenberg recruited smokers without prior experience using e-cigarettes to volunteer to use two popular brands of the devices for a set period. The 16 subjects were regularly measured in a clinical setting for the presence of nicotine in their bodies, their reported craving for conventional cigarettes, and certain physiological effects such as a change in heart rate.

"Ten puffs from either of these electronic cigarettes with a 16 mg nicotine cartridge delivered little to no nicotine," the study found.

But the units may deliver hazardous chemicals, according to preliminary checks by federal regulators. In a notice to importers, the FDA blocked continued shipments after finding diethylene glycol, a chemical used in antifreeze that is toxic to humans.

sent tons of sales to blucigs, then found out they can only pay with a check :/

its so sad to see because blucigs is the best converting smoke sponsor out there without a doubt...but their affiliate manager program is useless
