Anyone seen this documentary? Watched it today. Pretty fucked up what lies people live on the internet. Trailer doesn't really 'sell it' too well but here it is anyway. I also saw Catfish the other day which is similar but looked kind of fake to me.

heh I've seen both. Saw talhotblond first and then Catfish and immediately thought the latter (fiction btw) was based on the former.

Well apparently the makers of Catfish are trying to make it look like it is a documentary. I saw it knowing absolutely nothing about it and I thought it was a 'fake-documentary' style movie.... which I am fine with as long as you are not trying to pass it off as anything different.

Anyway one of my very first experiences on the net many, many years ago was a girl 'pretending' so it kind of makes this stuff like this all the more creepy for me.

It's a good thing you didn't know anything going into Catfish because they hyped its pre-release to be something completely different than what it was. It was a big let down.

I think you mentioned in an older thread that you saw Collapse recently...

I'm a big documentary fan too, so if you come across any other good ones pass em along my way! :)

I'm always on the look out for new docos too. There is a great thread at the Something Awful forums that links to many great ones if you are so inclined.

Have you seen Big River Man? Saw it a couple of weeks ago and it was interesting.
