notime 11-16-2010 01:31 PM

Wow, such a big tree Lloyd! Cool pic.

Yes. Sorry about that.

Sid70 11-16-2010 01:34 PM

Lovely place. Always wanted to go and see sequoia myself. By the way, if you experience say any kind of car related problem how would you get outta there? Any road assistance services? How does it work in that part of USA?

loreen 11-16-2010 01:39 PM

Nice pic, the third one :)

This was not Sequoia. Sequoia is Central California inland by the Sierra Nevada ( see http://www.gotbaddog.com/photos-from...ational-parks/ ) Think of Sequoia as big trees in the mountains and the Redwoods as big trees by the coast.

http://www.gotbaddog.com/galleries/2...yon116_big.jpg

Both locations are very well traveled and the Redwoods are along Hwy 101, so there are small towns scattered around. If you are renting a car from something like Hertz, Enterprise or Avis most likely it will be road worthy and there will be nothing to worry about.

LeRoy 11-16-2010 02:03 PM

Nice pics Baddog. Looks like you guys are having fun.

As always :)

Nothing says fun like being cooped up in a slow ass car with a grumpy old man.

2intense 11-16-2010 02:17 PM

The car is not slow and he is not the grumpy.

Well you sure told me.

Now I'll know better the next time a giant American car with a little V6 pulls up next to me and wants to drag for pinks.

96ukssob 11-16-2010 02:26 PM

nice pics, that tree is pretty crazy

Seth Manson 11-16-2010 02:27 PM

Did you meet Randy of the Redwoods? That guy was funny on MTV, back when MTV played music videos.

No one introduced themselves as being him.

HardlinkSells 11-16-2010 04:55 PM

That tree is pretty awesome.

fatfoo 11-16-2010 04:58 PM

The chandelier tree amazes me. The maximum age is 2400 years. The tree still stands, even though a hole was made in the tree, so that a car could go through the tree.

GrouchyAdmin 11-16-2010 05:04 PM

I love the redwoods.

Me too. So Saturday a friend of mine joined us and we drove up to the Redwoods National Park. We then headed to Crescent City and Trinidad to get some seascape shots.

All of Saturday's pics are at http://www.gotbaddog.com/photos-from...national-park/

The past weekend was most excellent in the Bay Area, I managed to squeeze in yet another BBQ on Sunday.

Let me know the next time you are up here - we've had some good and interesting dinners together (Moroccan, Italian, etc). Let's do it again. :)

I love this photo! Where was it shot?

I am so there...(I know the founder and wife, of Pizza My Heart).

And you and GoodGirl better let me know the next time you are up this way...

My spousal unit rarely joins me in my adult-related outings, but I have told her how much I dig you two (dating myself with that expression), so she will prolly join us - and I do know the fun places to flow and glow at in the Bay Area, so let's do it!!! :thumbsup

You must visit SC a lot. They are off the beaten path and have only been open since 2007. Well worth the stop though. All the food, pasta included is made fresh there.

baddog 11-17-2010 12:10 PM

Monday, we woke up in Santa Cruz and prepared for an amazing drive down Hwy 1. Hwy 1 between Santa Cruz and San Simeon has some of the most amazing coastline of anywhere in the world that I have visited.

Monday's photos can be found at http://www.gotbaddog.com/photos-of-t...nia-coastline/
