Price does matter to a certain extent. Cheaper colognes, and perfumes for that matter, contain more alcohol than actual scent and dont last too long. That is why you have alot of those cheap knock offs on the store shelves that say "if you like Obsession you will love..."

I would say that the smell is more important than price with Cologne.
I have tried Playboy brand Cologne, some people liked it.
