Google does NOT want its index filled with affiliates.

period.

those big corps do far more google spamming than adult webmasters can do alone, and they do it on larger number, thus getting googles attention.

then they get pissed when they get yanked or google drops their ranks becuase its nothing but feeders for another site.

sucks... but, google doesnt really care about our busines at all.

all it cares about is its index, and rightfully so.

Doesn't surprise me...people are law suit happy these days! Everything is everyone else's fault but their own.

More I read about Google, more scared I get. Think about it; they have more dominant position in certain niche (search engine) than Micro$oft has every had in theirs.

To make matters worse;
- they are not publicly owned
- their policies are basically up to few guys
- on their whim, they can cause businesses to fail in no time

Read the latest Wired, some scary stuff about Google.

My adwords has stopped working for some unknown reason, I'm _really_ scared that they've deemed me to be evil.

Unless you have an inside hookup at Google -- I don' t see the point in a short term SE traffic strategy... Your goal should be to produce sites that any search engine would WANT to link... If you have a site that the SE needs, somehow or another it will find you as it becomes more useful... and my assumption is that any SE will become more useful over time... and you won't have to bother w/ all that keyword bullshit...

Sorry if a little off topic but you reminded me. I ran a Spyware, ad server removal program today to see what was on my computer.

Therre were 52 different programs on my computer to either collect info about me or send me ads depending on pages visited.
I delete me cookies, etc. and this computer is a month old!

These progs were on my memory, hard drive, and in the registry!

52! Damn.

No wonder it seemed like every site had a pop up now. I was being served. :ak47:

The guys who own Google should be able to do what ever they like with it, who cares if its a private company, who cares if they adjust rankings.

Do you want someone telling you what you can do with your web site ? How many links you can have on a TGP ? What billing company to use ?

Within reason, nobody has the right to tell someone else what to do with their own property.

This kind of whinging shits me to tears.

Google has been turning more and more commercial. It's like a band that start doing alternative stuff, everybody loves it, and then they start going pop and people start vomiting on them.
