Just saw an interesting British WWI BBC documentary, Indians earnt their way into the West!
 

Indians worked their asses off and lost a lot of lives in both WWI and WWII. A particular group of Indians fought the moghuls for a few hundred years and then fought for Britain.... so I think they earnt their way into the West unlike many who come for freebies

It is interesting that Britain was not invaded during WWII. In other words, the enemies did not take over part of their territory. Maybe a few British islands were seized.
