For research, what part of America would you compare to the red light district of Amsterdam?

I totally agree and yeah Vegas is the most close to Amsterdam (RLD). My last visit in Vegas was 7 days and still suffering an alcohol disorder :P

He's asking about the red light district in particular so I assume he means hookers. So NO, not Vegas, where prostitution is illegal. The only places you can legally choose some hookers in America that line up for you would be the cat houses outside of Clark County, Nevada.

But in truth I wouldn't compare anything in America to the red light district in Amsterdam.

I'm from Amsterdam, grown up in a bad ass neighbourhood and I can not judge about the difference between the US and Amsterdam because I was there only 2 times. In Holland we are so called "liberal" but hooking and pimping is everywhere as much as the dope and stuff

From what I know, the only place were sex for pay is legal is in parts of Nevada (outside of Las Vegas). And it's a long drive to get to these places in the middle of nowhere. Outskirts of Reno, Nevada might be the most populated place where sex for pay is legal.

I think cities in Canada are more similar to Amsterdam than any city in the USA (in terms of liberal attitudes towards sex tourism)

There is no where in the US that is like the RLD of Amsterdam. Anyone that thinks there is has either never been to the RLD or never been to the US.

No...as pointed out prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas...and no where in the U.S. is there any red light district or anything close to it.

I am not going to suggest there are no RLD's in the US, but they sure they heck do not have the product sitting in windows like they do in AMS.

There of course is the occasional whore house here and there...but there is not any comparison...and the whore houses here are only legal in certain counties in one state.

Remember, there is much more to Amsterdam than just the Red Light District. It's also a beautiful city.

San Francisco is also a beautiful city, and you can do pretty much whatever you want, within reason. There are oriental brothels all over the city, and prostitutes advertise online and can be in your hotel/apartment within the hour.
