I'm thinking I'll be driving to the next convention

REALLY??
Wow this country is going down the shitter fast !!
I can't believe what the government is allowing TSA to do these days..

Randy West 11-09-2010 07:46 AM

Give me a fucking break. These clowns are so worried about dying that they are actually forgetting to live. This is clearly a violation of people's rights and privacy. Fuck the TSA. I would never let them blast me or my kids with radiation.

Sly 11-09-2010 08:01 AM

It saddens me that our "elected representatives" have not said squat about this yet. Where is the grandstanding they love to do?

Trax 11-09-2010 08:01 AM

lol.. who gives in to this kind of shit? since when do men search women? you have to be retarded to give in to this shit

WebairGerard 11-09-2010 08:11 AM

If you really look into it...at the end...

They will do what ever they have to do to keep us safe..meaning themselves safe..

dyna mo 11-09-2010 09:15 AM

i get a kick out of the barrel of shampoos and such sitting at the tsa checkpoint. if all that shit was so bad it can't go, then why the hell is it left to sit at the checkpoint!

If every politician and elected official had to do what us common folk did, shit would change awful fast. I don't believe for one moment that the daughter of a congressman is being touched by a male TSA agent.

selena 11-09-2010 09:21 AM

I would have lost it if someone touched one of my children in that manner. I don't care if it was another female, or if they were "keeping us free from terrorists" in doing so. I would have likely gone to jail, which would have been stupid on my part. But that is a realistic view of what would have happened.

Tom_PM 11-09-2010 09:21 AM

Or having to turn over their shampoo or snow globe. Elite class.

i don't have children but i would prolly do the same if i did.

tsa is a textbook example of how bad/inefficient/overly governing our government has become.

_Richard_ 11-09-2010 09:28 AM

when they start harassing pilots etc, we know there is a problem

Robbie 11-09-2010 09:30 AM

They aren't looking for terrorists anymore. Hell when I was growing up a "terrorist" was one of those guys wearing a mask that attacked the Israeli Olympians.

These days...any lunatic that tries to blow up something is now a "terrorist" And every guy that commits a crime is now committing "terrorism" lol

The govt. is just using "terror" as another way to invade our privacy. Plain and simple. If somebody is a nutjob and really wants to blow up a plane...well then he will find a way to do it and frisking passengers ain't gonna stop him.

In the meantime they are busy searching our private belongings looking for drugs in the name of fighting "terrorism".

Looks to me like Bin Laden won after all.

dyna mo 11-09-2010 09:37 AM

it's not a conspiracy, you give the government too much credit. funny how they can't get shit done in washington yet can create and implement an invasion of privacy measure.

it doesn't work that way.

the government is using terror to support the military-industrial complex funding, etc. we needed an enemy to justify the military machine after the end of the cold war.

but the tsa is simply a bureaucracy run rampant.

I don't think it's a deliberate move from the "top" in Washington.
I think it's local authorities everywhere taking advantage of looser restrictions on them to invade our privacy in every way.

Everything from a cop being able to pull you over and search you (they couldn't do that when I was younger), all the way to the TSA going through your luggage and helping themselves to any valuables you might have in there.

They just made a "record" drug bust at the airport here in Vegas a few days ago. I'm sure they were just searching for "terrorists" when they discovered it.

One thing is for sure...you put most people in a position of authority and it just naturally goes to their heads. The only thing that ever kept it in check was the U.S. constitution. But now that's kind of been thrown aside to "keep us safe".

What a joke. As I said before...if somebody wants to do something crazy...NOTHING will stop them.

About a year ago I saw the guy in charge of security at Israeli airports on the news. He laughed at our "security". And if there is any country in the world that has the best security at airports it's Israel.

He jokingly said that Jewish people would never tolerate long lines and being searched. lol

He said that they do their security in multiple levels and it consists of highly trained personnel watching people's faces. Nobody gets frisked and there's no lines and all the b.s. we go through.

He explained it in more detail and the reasons it works perfectly and the problems with our system. But I don't want to type a book here.

Suffice to say that our "security" is far more geared to invasion of privacy and maybe "scaring" a "terrorist" (random nutjob) more than actually stopping "terrorism".

And all to get on a glorified bus with wings. We need a high speed rail system in this country.

Is that really necessary?

Could someone really hide something that small enough, that would be detected only through those tecniches, tht could actually do some real harm???

Last time I was at IAD Dulles international airport the Barrel of Mini Shampoo bottles also have like a Bars worth of Liquor bottles they were pulling out of peoples carry on luggage ... full size 750ml bottles

They have already announced that they will be storing the photos or videos of people walking through those scanners. So just wait until they tell you that you have to scan a Airline ticket into the machine before you walk in. That means Name and info connected to a stored image.

me I dont give a shit but they are NOT storing that data of my son.

Unless people stand up to this shit...they'll just wait until he grows up and do it anyway. Even our parenting instincts are pretty much useless against the govt. take over of our lives.

That's what they said but it was already proven that in many cases they are storing the images. Plus you have to remember they always do this stuff in steps so people don't fight it. Eventually they will store all images and it will be connected to your ID/social, what comes after that who knows. That's why the roll things out like this in stages to spread out the complaints and because people are more accepting of slow change.

This shit is fucking ridiculous, I would probably lose it if they tried to do that to my kids. There is a simple way for people to stop this though. Don't fly, simply a matter of enough people canceling their trips.

yeah, i just don't see it that way, that's where i was coming from with posting the snow globe picture. i don't believe *they* have planned to slowly remove our privacy and step # whatever in the plan was to not allow snow globes.

also, do you have any links re: proving the pictures have been proven to be stored?

thx.

No I dont.. I saw it in one of two places. From time to time I scan over either CNN or Huffington post.

No I dont trust either of them but damn we are running out of places to get news.

Yeah I know what you mean and I would be more than willing to fight against it. But for now I have to protect my son first.
