How about charging members after 30 days?
Most modern paysites charge members upfront. But how about changing that into "Play now, Pay later" type of thing? Has anyone tried this model? Many chargebacks happen just because members discover that they are charged like $49.95 and all they see is 5-7 photo sets and 2-3 .avi videos inside. Logic suggests that good sites with loads of content and features inside should be able to keep the member happy thus lowering the amount of chargebacks.
Or am I just being too idealistic? |
How many people would join just for a few days and leave then come back again. No way would this be a viable idea. We dont get chargebacks because we dont con our members... sell honest sites.
Youre not being idealistic, youre not living in the real world. |
People would just cancel, and signup again for the free month.

The current membership models haven't changed at all much. Even though customers demands have changed and the business done a 180 turn.
I don't see your idea catching on but we do need a change. How about these ideas. Smaller sites with a small charge and short membership. Say $5 for 10 days. Or the user is "charged" for a number of credits. So every day he logs into the site he loses a credit. So a 30 day membership means 30 days he logs in. Not a calendar 30 days. Of course for example it could be 3 to 300 days. The paysite side of this industry to survive needs to change itself. Memberships are just one way we can do it. |
I don't think it would work out.
You could however offer a money-back guarantee. |
Do you mean a 30 day trial, or a charge deferred for 30 days?
|
There have been companies that offered cheap or free 30 day trials.
I think that both PornDollar and Pornkings both did this at one point. |

Everyone cant have it every way :2 cents: Webmasters seem to want at least $25 & more per sale which is low compared to large companies, how can I, yourself or any other program charge less for membership without altering how much they pay affiliates. When you look at the price of skyTV or cable, I think $29.95 is quite adequate for hardcore footage. Maybe its time for webmasters to send quality traffic to different sites & see what happens. |
