News from plugrush inside.

Nextri, one of the owners of plugrush, is back in town (seems the whole crew was on a holiday trip) and will post an update on the plugrush situation tommorow. They need to figure out some details first it seems.

As soon as there is any news and it isnt posted on gfy yet i will update this thread.

Keep the faith alive in the camels :)

Seems the trip was planned before the trouble started.

From Nextri:

We got fucked pretty bad by all of this. First with epass closing down. Not only because of the money lost, but also because we lost a payment option which in turn reduced our ability to get new advertisers and new campaigns, and be able to pay out via epass to publishers.
Then we got completely wiped out on all our servers, and it took almost two weeks before we got any clear info on what the status was on the plugrush servers and data.
Getting it back up and running isn't as easy as it might sound. We had a whole network of sites plus plugsubmitter to also restore, 17 servers total that got wiped and needed individual configuring and restoring.
The amount of work we had to put in, and still need to put in to get things back up and running like before is overwhelming. We are only two people here with the knowledge of the systems, with the ability to restore anything. Not only because it took a lot of time for rcn to restore things, but also because the complexity of the plugrush system and server setup.

To top it off, like some have mentioned, we're also getting sued by facebook, actually on the same day rcn broke down. Which brings a whole lot of stuff to deal with as well.

Our plan moving forward, is to get PlugRush back up and running, and we do intend to pay everyone what they are owed in the plugrush system.
We also want to get new payment options implemented, and at least want to get paxum working.
We feel it still has great potential, and we see a lot of people are still interested in it, even after all of this.
Unfortunately, at the moment we can't give an exact estimate of the time it will take to get the system up and running though, but it is one of our priorities now. It will take time to get it back, and it will take time to get traffic flowing through the network again.

I'm sorry for the lack of communication, we should have been better with that. It's mostly due to the uncertainty of things, and not wanting to post news unless it's good news.

This is by far the worst couple of months we've had since starting in this industry. When it rains it pours.

nextri 11-09-2010 07:52 AM

thx. was just about to post that :)

DVTimes 11-09-2010 07:52 AM

adultwebmestar 11-09-2010 08:44 AM

You have to know "the time". Days, weeks or months...

famous 11-09-2010 09:32 AM

if you believe that people who run websites goes on "holiday" for 2-3 weeks and dont have a laptop a phone or some form of communication then you proabably believed that Chris was hard at work trying to get your money back for epass. I mean seriously, internet people DO NOT go away for weeks at a time without someone watching the helm or with a laptop. Even on a family vacation i will take a laptop, for emergencies only.

the problems they are facing are a bit more complec then checking the boards abd reading some emails though.

Fenris Wolf 11-09-2010 01:53 PM

Good luck on getting things up on in a timely manner.

Completely true. We had one person left at home who could handle restoring stuff, and I had of course a laptop with me. I was expecting the internet connection possibilities to be better than they were though. Wasn't easy getting much actual work done, except communication and email. But the amount of work to do with all our other business which also was wiped completely was just too overwhelming to be able to do it all at the same time.
Stuff will get back up soon though.

Well not stiring the pot but if i had been in your shoes i would have been on a plane home that day. Vacations are good and all but business is business. I had the same shit happen to me in early 2002, the people i was hosting with actually went out of business and i was on my one family vacation a year and guess what we left the same day it all went down. In todays times people are extremely scared of anyone who owes them money or has to do with money. It does not take much to shift the tide and push all the people who push your business or product the other way. Anyways not tring to flame you or preach just speaking what i know will happen of all this. You guys will simply never be the same again.

fris 11-14-2010 09:58 PM

i would think he would be trying to get this back rather than making posts selling prepaid traffic on his sites

tjl_cfp 11-14-2010 10:00 PM

Good, I have purchased bunch of traffic there and they owed me. Thank You anyway

Im usually with you on things but not this. There are many times when you are twiddling your thumbs waiting for something to propagate/upload/ect that you have time to do other things.

Like right now I have a lot of things in the background auto updating and uploading so I have a little time to fuck around here.

Using that theory he could be paying people while the site gets fully restored

If the site is not online there may be a chance that he does not know how much he owes anyone?
