Yea, cuz Jerry Brown was so good for us before. Oh wait...

Fat Panda 11-02-2010 10:07 PM

Crazy how much she spent... Can't imagine pissing that much cash down my leg to be a fucking governor. Personally I'd spend the money on booze, hookers and gambling...much more fun!

yeah, she really destroyed eBay. I presume you do not live here. If you do, don't fucking bitch when Brown puts the final knife in the state's heart.

Define destroyed? eBay went on a downward spiral under her control and is a steaming pile of shit to this day.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it went under her control when it had only 30 employees and was doing $4.7 million a year. Are they worse off?

Not that I give a shit...I don't think she would have been a GREAT governor, but doubt she'd be worse than Jerry Brown.

Yes it did but by none of her own doing. The story is a long one but if you want to read it then here is a good summary. I looked for a less partisan source but the Google is currently filled with election crap.

She probably would have one if her campaign cost 1 Million and donated the rest to the state since it is in need of the money. That would have been a good campaign.

Yes I do live here - this is still a pretty blue state you red neck throwback. Old Meg couldn't manage a whorehouse let alone a state.

Brown has already proven he is incompetent as a governor. You just don't pay attention. :2 cents:

Or he has a very bad memory... Brown fucked up the state his last time in office. Round 2 should be the nail in the coffin.
Im glad I left Cali long ago.

I just feel spending $160 million leads to corruption. Which ever party spends it. The system is so open to corruption and it's good the voters spoke on this one.

Congrats to her! :thumbsup

I'm racking my brain trying to figure out a scenario where it would be worth spending $160 million just to sit in the governor's chair. The only thing I can think of is if your kid brother is on death row.

I'm certain she intended to use the governorship as a stepping stone to the White House and the fact that she lost does not necessarily take her off that path.

Tom_PM 11-03-2010 09:39 AM

I really wonder how it came about that she made that gaff about California being so great 30 yrs ago. Did someone write that? Did she ad lib it? wtf was she thinking, lol.

He is probably too young to remember. Too young and too stupid to do any research.

Relax dude, last I heard, she's worth nearly $1 billion. That $140M of her own money she spent was just a drop in the bucket for her.

I remember when Brown was gov of California, people think Arnold is bad? LMAO

And the one thing that I wondered about in his ads "At this point in my life I'm prepared to do whats needed?" WTF? The guy has no plan

Well, Slutboat, you ignorant slut, you just showed the entire board exactly what you DON'T know about history!

Seems that I recall a guy who lost the gubernatorial election in California in 1962 and then went on a bit later to become.......

(Drum roll!)

President of The United States!

, let's see; just when was that?

Oh, yeah!

1968

The same guy had also LOST the the race for the White House in 1960.

And just who was that, Slutboat, you ignorant slut?

Richard M. Nixon.

Your prognostications are not only flawed but shown by history to be entirely without foundation!

BlackCrayon 11-03-2010 10:14 AM

goes to show you can't always buy your way into power. there should really be a cap of what can be spent all around. its such a horrible waste of money.

lets go even further, people who are so rich shouldn't be allowed to even run for political positions. why? because people with kind of wealth have little connection to reality and what life is like for the average voter.

Thanks for the education Crazy Sally - and nice to see you are finally using a real pic of yourself in your avatar!

Got to be a big profit in there somewhere. I'm sure you could buy a pardon from the right person for much less than that.

It would actually be the opposite. What leads to corruption is when lobbyists donate to a campaign and then the candidate is beholden to their special interests once in office. If she spent her own money, she's less likely to take outside money and doesnt have to answer to anyone.

Atticus 11-03-2010 10:59 AM

I'm a dem mainly due to social issues but tend to side with the Republicans on fiscal policy. I just find that the Rep party has been taken over by right wing nuts. So I guess I could be called a moderate Democrat.

That being said what California needs is a bitch (not that Meg Whittman is one, just using the OP's term). Someone who will come in and make the hard choices and tell it how it is. They dont need a handout liberal who wants everyone to feel all warm and fuzzy inside. They have real problems and they needed someone who wasnt afraid to ruffle a few feathers along the way.

sandman! 11-03-2010 11:02 AM

what if you allready had and did everything you wanted to do in life ?
